this is only going to keep getting worse until the Cards get new owners. I predicted this years ago.
no top player free agents want to come to Cards to play for a no name manager.. a team that has no super stars or doesn't spend money to try to compete with the best teams in the NL.
the Cards literally have no hope in the future. they are also not great at developing player in the minors and finding gems to turn it around
many Cards fans finally realize this now.. more and more every year. I'm shocked that not all Cards fans don't' realize this yet. there is some out there that think getting rid of the GM or Manager will change things. no .. it's pretty simple and most are starting to realize
the Cardinals will NEVER win another NL Pennant again until they get new owners. I knew thisyears ago already and basically have lost interest in Cardinal baseball because of it.
I would say at least 50% of the fan base knows this now.. but there are still slow fans out there that who don't.
Is anyone happy with 4 in a row.
Of course people are happy. Beats losing five in a row. But forgive us if it doesn’t take away the sting of years of a gradual slide into irrelevance.
2. NLCS appearance with a good showing (none of this 2019 NLCS humiliation stuff)
3. Repeat #2.

Re: Wow, the number of empty seats are incredible
Strictly my own opinion.
We do have reason for optimism. The team/players have flashed some real promise with showing signs of continued success and progress.
- But the blowback for me can be traced to July of 2017 with Mo being named PBO
- In that presser BDW3 stated MO’s primary role as PBO. That role is baseball oriented and not business and marketing operations. That is Frodo’s role
- since then MO’s vision of the future led to the ownership and FO to finally admit that they fell behind in major categories to keep and join the cutting edge that mid market teams need to compete
- no pitching lab
- lacking investment in player development
- poor roster management and build
- falling behind in analytics
- hiring yes men and managers. I could stand Oli if he gave us the impression that he knew how to get the most out of each players strength. Utilize what speed we etc…. At this point be aggressive and when presented a chance in extra innings go for it. Create excitement for this at the park.
- stating there as no need for pressure to win
- little investment in the international market and when they had clear oppty did nothing
- significant waste in contractural management
- acting and talking to the fan base like you are the President of a Fortune 500 business
And maybe worst of all when you are talking to your fan base that they cannot possibly understand the decision criteria nor complexities of baseball management. Alienating your fan base with these actions and attitudes. Basically, enabled by ownership to reach none of his positional goals of guiding the future. Anyone of the above would get a president replaced in the real world based on ROI for leadership of an organization.
I root for the team and go to several games a year with my son when he comes to town. I believe the players once the season start give there all I will continue to root for our players and watch there development.
So for me it is not the players nor strictly wins or losses but the manner what the fan base has had to endure from an overmatched FO and and on field management failures while being complete DH’s to the fan base.
Again, just my opinion.

I would but I'm an adult and can ignore people who annoy me...at least I've never had a thread where people were so (upset) they called me out.. I find it sad and realize they are harmless.OldRed wrote: ↑08 May 2025 12:17 pmReport him . . . .
