Whose fault is it?
You’ve really painted him into a corner.
No one is "painted into a corner." LOL.

The players are playing pretty good baseball and they don't have a decent
crowd there cheering them on. Many want to blame ownership, the front office, or field management - that's fine,
but what about the players who are putting out 100% every game? Doesn't anyone care about them?
Why don’t you simply start a good feel thread about the players. That’s all you need to do.
Seems like it fits on this thread, dawg. The thread is about low attendance. I simply mentioned to players.
The thread is about low attendance. Where does - does anyone care about the players- Fit that narrative.

Of course not. You're wasting your time arguing with one complete idiot that has nothing but time on his hands. The attendance is indicative of what people feel about this roster and organization. Period, end of story.
So watching developing and maturing players like Donovan, Winn, Scott, Herrera, Burleson, Nootbaar, Pages,
Gorman, Walker, Liberatore, McGreevy, etc. isn't of interest?
Why are you asking me? You don't care what my opinion is one way or another.

The attendance will always answer any question you may have about interest.
Cranny, I believe the problem with the players you mention is that none of them have the star potential of past home grown and traded for players from the recent past like Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen, Chris Carpenter, Molina, Wainwright etc. I don't see any of the current players you list having the potential of being more than a little bit above average. It's painfully obvious by his recent business decisions that DeWitt does not have the same drive that he had in his early ownership days to field a team that could consistently compete for a championship. I live on the west coast now and have been paying to watch yearly with an MLB.com subscription. This year I did not renew because I won't give my dollars to watch at best a mediocre product.
The 2006 and 2011 teams weren't predicted to win a World Championship. People seem to forget that.

I sure hope the Dewitts change the Marketing and PR staff at the end of 2025. Please give Bloom a fresh communications approach. The current messaging has become stale and no longer captures the fans’ interest.

Clearly not. And that’s well within their right. It’s their money and their free time. Not yours. If they don’t want to hand over their cash to an owner and POBO that do not care about winning good for them

So maybe think of another way to gaslight because this one is way too classless even for you

They are not obligated to spend their money on the product just to make us happy. We are not obligated to spend our time and money to consume their product if we do not enjoy the product, or the experience. It seems like we have come to an understanding of one another.

Here's how the teams were ranked in September, 2006, going into the playoffs -

1.) Yankees
2.) Mets
3.) Twins
4.) Athletics
5.) Tigers
6.) White Sox
7.) Angels
8.) Cardinals

And here's how the Cardinals were ranked by Bleacher Report going into the 2011 season -

1.) Red Sox
2.) Phillies
3.) Giants
4.) Rangers
5.) Yankees
6.) Brewers
7.) Twins
8.) White Sox
9.) Braves
10.) Reds
11.) Padres
12.) Angels
13.) Tigers
14.) Rockies
15.) Orioles
16.) Marlins
17.) Cubs
18.) Cardinals

I guess you just never know.

Cranny, you kind of prove my point with the examples of 2006 and 2011. Those teams had the superstar talent to overcome the particular issues of each of these seasons. There is not one player on this current roster that would have the same effect. I know you are a staunch supporter of both the management and ownership. Loyalty is a good thing. But I believe you can be loyal and objective at the same time.

The difference is they were trying back then not, as Mozeliak said, " This is going to be where we are not necessarily building the best possible roster we can."

Too bad the existing players have to play with less support from the stands.
Too bad the fans have had to watch several years of sub-par players, on field management, and front office intelligence

Actually, some players have done fine. Didn't the Cards have a winning season in 2024?
Name one "star" player on this team that people would pay to go see play.
Would pay to see Victor Scott II play ..very exciting , dynamic player

It's really just a matter of perspective. Every game is an opportunity for a winner. That's why I watch. And
I'll bet if you polled the posters on here, many of them will be watching the game with the Pirates this
evening to see if the Cards can sew up a series victory with Liberatore vs. Skenes.

Each game is different. Of course the fan base is gonna watch tonight. Like every night.

Watch, from where? From the stands? This was about attendance, right?
Sure, I'll check in on the internet tonight, might watch the highlights later on youtube, but are we currently planning a trip to STL to watch the Cards?
Meh, maybe, maybe not, later on this summer. The Golden goose might have got underfed.

I haven't watched a game on TV much less in person since the NL copied the AL and went 100% DH. Now attendance is down in St Louis? Perhaps people who understand baseball aren't showing up.

Amazing that someone who hasn't watched a game in a long time is still on a fan forum.
