Yeah and the Krug/Perunovich Experience has convinced them to go a different profile on D.

Which was the more costly money mistake?
Perunovich or Leddy

The answer to that question should create a strong wind pushing them in a different direction too.

Some people are just disappointing humans...like green grass. If you want to make a point do it and back it up with rational data.

To your point, Kyrou hasn't been the same since he was rocked. Wether it's an injury or the hit is in his head, he has been ineffective. I was at the game last night and he appeared extremely tentative, giving the old college try on plays.

Just to be argumentative in a nice way regarding Perunovich. One could say the Blues were trying to be first in the trend of extremely skilled elusive small dman in mold of Lane Hutson and Quinn Hughes.

I just remember talk being about a "mobile defense".

Not saying that's a good approach, but just wondering if the league in general was thinking this way.

Kyrou has a long history of being soft. The Charmin did not come out just recently.

Here is my point... I want more effective players in the playoffs, not less effective. Kyrou is on the low end of playoff productivity.

Jordan Kyrou has 10 goals, 2 assists and a plus-minus of -13 in 26 games in the playoffs in his career.

Kyrou's playoff performance in 2025 is tracking only slightly worse than his overall impact in the 26 playoff games that he has played in.

That’s my take on the “smell of green grass.”

I hope this was helpful.
Interesting observation Hazel72, certainly worthy to share in regards to such a "timely" thread. bLUeFonTALerT

Better hope there are lots of both types in the pipeline. Both winners.

I’ll answer the question honestly.

It’s hard to truly say until a guy plays a couple times in the NHL playoffs but you get a sense before that as these guys play high pressure games at different levels.

Guys I see as having high compete level: Dvorsky, Stenberg, Burns, Peterson, Loof

Guys I see likely having a little above average compete level: Snuggerud, Lindstein, Stancl, Fischer, Dean, Ellis, Pekarcik, Skinner, Koromyslov

Not sure: Ralph, Jecho, Korotky, Zherenko, Robertsson, Kos

I have concerns about their compete level: Jiricek, Buchinger, Mrsic
