Also more time to coach up the kids up front. My guess is we see Suter on Wed night. Even if he is dinged up that’s still another 2 1/2 days to rest up. Man does this series feel like it dragging sometimes. I can only assume there were numerous conflicts in the 2 arenas? I prefer more of an every other day cadence.

I just don't feel that the extra days off are helping the Jets. It did appear to help Hellebyuck briefly - he was more aggressive. But the second he was scored up on late in the first, he went right back to passive. He's just guessing right now almost waiting for the next bad thing to happen. Jets are in an unenviable place right now. Do you start Comrie? Make no mistake, there is a goalie controversy in the Peg.DawgDad wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 10:12 amAlso more time to coach up the kids up front. This is why it's easier said that done when the talking heads say the D needs to play better in front of Helle right now. They are playing on their heels because the don't trust him. They are collapsing in front and leaving the points open. And Parayko has already launched a couple of 97mph bombs.

I don't see it like that at all.Harold_Melvin wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025 20:20 pm I like Tucker's game and what a great game he had today. He's a young man who is still progressing and I think he'll probably be a regular NHLer for many years to come. Having said that, if Tucker is the difference between a series win or loss, then the guys on the ice are the problem.
On a side note, I read some negative posts about Kessel coming in. If Suter isn't ready, then Kessel it is. Next man up. And extra shifts for the other guys to protect the weak link.
He is a 3rd pairing defenseman that is being replaced. Now with the game being in Winnipeg they can put Conner, Scheifele, and Morrison on the ice when the 3rd pairing is out there which gives them a huge advantage to begin with. Although he has played well the vast majority of the season, Suter has lost a step so that will be taken advantage of.
This series has been as much about matchups as anything else, and Winnipeg having the last change 2 out of the last 3 games will be quite huge.

there hasn't been an announcement of Suter being injured, just the board speculating.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025 21:20 pm Apologies if it’s been posted, but does anyone know how Suter was injured?
The previous two games he averaged 18 minutes and that last game, he was under 14….

Thanks, Jack. I had totally forgotten we had seven D for Game two...that explains the drop off.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 11:11 amthere hasn't been an announcement of Suter being injured, just the board speculating.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025 21:20 pm Apologies if it’s been posted, but does anyone know how Suter was injured?

Re: Blues will miss Tyler Tucker
If Suter was dinged a bit to necessitate a 7th D in Game 2, it tells me it was borderline. Now that he's now had a week off which should help immensely given that he played all 82 this season. The cat is an absolute warrior.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 11:43 amThanks, Jack. oh that's probably very likely, but there hasn't been an official acknowledgement at this point, so it's just us speculating, but it is speculation grounded in solid theory.bud white wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 12:55 pmIf Suter was dinged a bit to necessitate a 7th D in Game 2, it tells me it was borderline. Re: Blues will miss Tyler Tucker
I doubt that is the case, Suter played 82 games and Tucker played 38 and that would make zero sense if the Blues thought the 2 were close.
When you add those facts with the 7 d thing and ice time distribution Suter is/was almost certainly compromised. If we are lucky he was just sick and will be back fresh(er) and healthy.

I remember when Parayko went down screaming looking like he tore his knee then he was back the next game. Hoping that’s the case with Tucker but looked way worse.

Are you saying that Tucker will be, or likely be, a difference maker moving forward in this series? Or are you saying it's a close series and Tucker is the best option? Or are you saying something else?TheJackBurton wrote: ↑28 Apr 2025 11:10 amI don't see it like that at all.Harold_Melvin wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025 20:20 pm I like Tucker's game and what a great game he had today. He's an in-and-out 3rd pair guy, so I don't expect him to be a the guy who moves the needle. That's all I'm saying. I'm happy if Tucker can just hold the fort when he's on the ice. IMO if he's out then his replacement has just as much chance to hold the fort, move the needle or get burned.
