How good will he be. He is really figured out hitting, added to his stellar defense and base stealing, we have a shot at a good to great center fielder.

His stat line last two games is elite ish. Shots down the line, to opposite field doubles.

I see him leading league in doubles and triples one year. Has that ever happened.

Has Scott emerged.
Love Scott and his potential! He's had a great week. Heck, he's had a nice season. Exceeding expectations!

I'd like to see him bunting more (for hits) and attempting more steals. I hope he's emerged, but we've seen other youngsters go through really good stretches only to falter.
Let's see how he looks by the ASB.
ASB it is.

T. Cobb did it three times, H. Wagner two times and most likely others can be added to the list
Musial did it 4 times!
Awesome

What I love about the kid is that he is NOT swinging for the fences. He knows his value to the team is to get on base and score runs, and to be a singles and gap hitter. If he continues to develop he would be the ideal CFer / leadoff hitter the team needs. That is a big IF though, because the league will figure him out and then we shall see if he can adjust. But of course we all like what we see so far.

I'd like Victor Scott to put up a season like Matt Carpenter's 2013 season. Lots of doubles, 10-15 homers. And, not that it's saying much, but more base larceny. With his speed, I think it's something that can be done.

Of course the league will figure him out, but still they must execute. Scott is good enough to lay off out pitches and put others in play. We all like what we see so far. I say we like what we got.

In spring training, I alluded to the fact that Scott deserved as much leeway as Walker and Gorman.
I see him emerging as a team leader. We needed that especially from the youth side of the clubhouse.

Gang- this is exactly what the reset was intended to do- let young play, see who can. So far several bright spots.
Do you see a possible Scott/Brock comp?
Stop it.

He's not Lou Brock.
Yepez is not Pujols.
Burly is not Votto or Gwynn.
You need to chill a little. Let some others have some fun with hopeful comps without your ridicule. So what if somebody is wrong about a baseball projection? This ain't cancer, nuclear war, etc.

Crav, do you think VS2 has overcome his past tendencies to the point what we're currently seeing is legit? I value your insights.
As for me, optimism running high with VS2, but it's still early, very early.

his swing gets a bit off sometimes, but he seems to have corrected that going into the Atlanta series. He's late on outside pitches and lifts, that's bad and he struggles...but when he adjusts, he drives the outside pitch to LF, instead of popping up.

that's what you want to watch with him....and if he overcompensates, he'll start topping the ball to 2B

I don't want to curse him, but I think he's going to be pretty good. I know he came up last year, but he probably shouldn't have. And if Siani wasn't so terrible offensively, combined with Scott's hot start, it's not hard to imagine a situation where he is starting in AAA right now, and it wouldn't feel like they were holding him down.

But he's still very young and developing. He's going to have his ups and downs, but you have to like a guy with a 118 OPS+. He's out hitting a lot of guys who are supposed to be bat first guys. I mean, I know we have some Gus really struggling offensively, but still. Oh yea, and it looks like he's improved on his defense from last year. And he also has blazing speed.

He just seems like a really smart player and it's been fun to watch him so far this year. Winn as well. I like seeing them doing cool things at the bottom of the order.

Thought I had an under the radar example in Jimmy Rollins, but nope. He led the lead in triples 4 times but never doubles.

100%

I think that he's come up this year and looked like he belongs after last year where he clearly didn't shows a lot about the kid.

1.) He won't be kept down. Mentally strong.
2.) He'll work his tail off.
3.) He's coachable.
4.) He is capable of making adjustments.

With the physical tools that Scott has, he'll have a nice little career up here. We all knew he had the physical tools, but he's got what it takes between the ears, too.
