Not entirely accurate. There is evidence he CAN manage.
Molina's managerial experience includes:

Criollos de Caguas: Led the team to the title in the 2023-24 season in his native Puerto Rico.

Team Puerto Rico: Managed the national team in the 2023 World Baseball Classic and is expected to do so again in 2026.

Navegantes del Magallanes: Managed in the Venezuelan Winter League during the 2022-23 season.

Águilas Cibaeñas: Currently the manager of the Dominican Winter League team.

Now, I'm not advocating for or against Yadi...but...he does have managerial experience.
I wasn't aware of that. Perhaps he would be worth a try then although I'd prefer to see Bloom steal Kevin Cash but if that's not possible then Molina might be a good choice. Catchers have a long history of being good managers.

Why would Molina (or Pujols) want to take over as interim manager when Bloom is going to pick his own guy in the winter? They would be better letting their interest be known in the offseason and maybe Bloom would put them on the list. Though I doubt being Cardinal legends would score extra points with an outsider like Bloom.

I don't think any manager will put butts in seats. I don't go to a game to watch someone manage.

But you know what will put rumps in chairs? A good team.

I remember being on a different forum when TLR was Manager.
And he was second guessed all the time!
Goes with the job but most knew he was good.
I soured on Matheny as the team struggled fundamentally.
Thought he was too easy on the players.
Probably not that unusual for a former player.
But I always liked and respected him as a person.
Marmol? Sorry but I don’t respect him at all and he is clearly in over his head.
Compared to Oli......Matheny belongs on the Mount Rushmore of Managers!
I was on this forum when TLR was manager, and he was constantly criticized and second guessed - for everything from bullpen management to playing his bench players on "getaway days". Some folks disliked him just because he lived in California and liked to drink wine instead of beer. Some folks claimed that any other manager would have won many more championships with the roster the Cardinals had from 1996-2011.

So what youre saying is 100% of the people on a forum dont agree on everything including managers? Shocking I say shocking! I thought they would all collectively agree on who is and who is not a good manager

I would select Stubby over Jon Jay. I think Stubby would be more entertaining. Watch the video below.

If I was either Pujols or Molina and the cardinals asked me to manage I would tell the Dewitts that they have to promise to up the payroll.

Not a payroll like the Mets or the Dodgers but one that would be able to land a power hitting corner outfielder and another solid bullpen arm.

Pujols and Molina have some leverage as they don't have to take a Cardinal manager position so why put yourself in a non winnable position. Sure they will be better than Marmol but still won't have the talent to compete for the division.

Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: 22 Apr 2025 07:08 am What I find facinating is the coaches and managers on the international and US teams.

You have Skip as a bench coach, who seems to be available
Pujols
Molina

Ron Darling in-game (while facing the Mets) spoke to the graphic that was smack dabbed on Marmol stating 2022 NL Central Champs. He mentioned it's been a long time for the Cardinals to be great or something to that effect and literally pivoted right into all the managers that have experience now. It was almost his way of foreshadowing a move.

I read into things to much, self admitted, but it was very unique how he delivered that message and even expanded upon it in-game.
I don't think there are many (any?) people in baseball who think Marmol will be the manager of the Cardinals in 2026. Oli hasn't done himself a ton of favors during his tenure, but his fate was essentially sealed when Mozeliak announced he was handing over the keys to Bloom after 2025.

I hear ya! LOL
I like to think that I am more objective than others
but I readily admit that I remember the “negatives” more than the “positives”.
That being said I believe with TLR it was more about “venting” and few actually thought he should be replaced.
As a fan I also readily admit that having to “watch” was tougher than having to actually “participate”. At least playing lessened the frustration. Sitting and watching your team lose close games gets to you! LOL

Hopefully bloom is not cursed by an obsession with the past that so many of the bfibs are…

and will hire someone with no ties to the organization

However, ownership knows their market…..and if it sells some tickets………

Couldn’t win on the road.
We have someone that will put butts in the seats, can manage the game from a catchers view and will hold players accountable.
Welcome coach Molina!!!
Nope. He and pujols are managing WBC (bleep)

I can believe that they'll leave Oli and place this season regardless of record to be the public pinata. However, there is no way in hell Bloom isn't going to pick his own manager for 2026
Unless BDW or BDW3 demand oli stay through the extension (at least). Why on earth was idiot Mo allowed to give lil oli a 3 year extension? :x

To make him feel comfortable. That's the important thing. We mustn't make Oli worry about where his next paycheck is coming from and first and foremost we can't have him worrying about winning or leading a team.
