Re: Neighbors-holloway-bolduc
And this is why you don't have the one or two ridiculous mega-dollar contracts that you cannot move out of. So you have the ability to afford a balanced & deep lineup at all positions. Harder for other teams to defend...you don't have weak areas in another part of the lineup that opponents can easily exploit when your mega is not on the ice...when the mega goes down, you don't drown.
Re: Neighbors-holloway-bolduc
For sure it's now time to see what happens in these playoffs....yes that plural.
But I do wonder (pending play off performance) if DA might try to speed up again and move one or two of the prospects still down in Springfield to make a move for a number 2 or even 3 twenty something center via trade.
And I do think he will change up the D by a man or two as well so that could happen there too, imo.

Re: Neighbors-holloway-bolduc
These three are really setting the tone for the team Holloway and Jake work hard on and off the ice.
Holloway I’m sure the team is who they would like everyone to play like.
Bolduc has probably the closest skill set to play similar to Holloway.
Now you are bringing Snuggy into this mix. Plays hard, strips the puck of the other team with ease at times, I’m sure he will follow the path of those 3. Then you have Kyrou who has improved his overall game but now sees these players coming along as well as how they all play. In a couple of the games Snuggy played more than Kyrou. Now you have Bolduc and Snuggy scoring on the PP. I’m not sure you could have a better environment for driving improvement that what they currently have. It’ll be interesting to see how this team develops over the next 2-3 years.

Re: Neighbors-holloway-bolduc
Certainly time will tell but right now Neighbours is one of the top goal scorers in his draft class with 56 goals in only 211 GP. Quite a find for later in the first round I think we have only scratched the surfaceDutchBlue wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 16:19 pmWith lots of interesting picks still to come to the pros… so very very happy.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 14:46 pm To note, without looking Bolduc scored 19 goals beginning on 11/25 correct? Thats impressive. I was on the fence about Bolduc till Monty took over I was also a bit skeptical of Snuggerud being able to contribute immediately, Ill gladly eat crow.
So:
Kyrou - (35th 2016) 26 yrs old, top line scorer
Thomas - (20th 2017) 25 yrs old #1 center
Bokk - (25th 2018) WHIFF
Hofer (107th 2018) potential #1 goaler
Broberg (8th 2019) 23 yrs old Future stud #1 LHD
Holloway (14th 2020) 23 yrs old top line scorer
Neighbours (26th 2020) 23 yrs old top 6 power forward
Bolduc (17th 2021) 22 yrs old top 6 sniper
Snuggerdud 23rd 2022) 20 yrs old top 6 sniper
Dvorsky (10th 2023) franchise top 9 center
Honorable mentions - Toropchenko, Tucker, Kessel
Blues fans should be really excited about what the Blues amateur department has been able to assemble WITHOUT tanking for a decade. The ability to maintain good productive veteran contracts and sprinkle in young, cheaper talented kids is what is going to lead to the Blues Golden Era
However obviously broberg and holloway were not really only amateur scouted. And I know you are talking about potential, but I am not sure if pencil in neighbours for top 6 role of a true contender, broberg as a #1 neither

For being 223 years old, Holloway hasn't lost a step out thereNublues69 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 12:01 pm Jake Neighbors 23yo

I think his offense went down a bit due to slow start for blues but his play making, His checking and agression has doubled. He will go at anyone. I think we can offically call him a power forward.

Wow is all i can say nobody expected this. his speed hitting and of course his onetimer, (which we havent had since brad boyes) along with his two way play Makes him our new youngest power forward. Monte really got this kid to play.
Last but def not least

We all expected broberg to be the better of the two...but Hollywood had something else for us. He is the fastest most dynamic power forward the blues have had in a long time. He can not only skate real fast but stick handle and dangle while he is doing it. He hits he skates he shoots he plays two way and he got Jordan kyrou to finally start playing to his potential. He creates offense and just plays a suffocating forecheck game. We are lucky to have a kid turn out this well with out developing him ourselves.
