Jake Neighbors 23yo
GP G A pts PIM +/-

2024-25 St. Louis Blues NHL 82 22 24 46 56 0

I think his offense went down a bit due to slow start for blues but his play making, His checking and agression has doubled. He will go at anyone. I think we can offically call him a power forward.

Zach Bolduc 22yo

Wow is all i can say nobody expected this. his speed hitting and of course his onetimer, (which we havent had since brad boyes) along with his two way play Makes him our new youngest power forward. Monte really got this kid to play.

Last but def not least
Dylan Holloway 223 yo

2024-25 St. Louis Blues NHL 77 26 37 63 10 21

We all expected broberg to be the better of the two...but Hollywood had something else for us. He is the fastest most dynamic power forward the blues have had in a long time. He can not only skate real fast but stick handle and dangle while he is doing it. He hits he skates he shoots he plays two way and he got Jordan kyrou to finally start playing to his potential. He creates offense and just plays a suffocating forecheck game. We are lucky to have a kid turn out this well with out developing him ourselves.

And from what I’ve seen from Snuggs so far I’m expecting similar numbers from him. Like Bolduc he is listed at 6’1” and 185. Holloway is also 6’1” but 205. So exciting.

All three of these guys could and should get better. I was looking at Utah's roster of young talent and as impressive as it is the Blues are in good shape. Snuggerud should put up solid numbers next season and Dvorsky will likely be weaned into the lineup. Then there's still Stenberg who could be a similar solid forward down the road. And others.

There could be an ongoing gap at center, DD is likely at least another full season away from 2C. Love me some Sunny but the 3rd line needs at least a Schenn to help feed the talented wingers.

2-3 years out this could get real interesting.

Bolduc could have 50+ goals as soon as next year.
The right mates and a few plays that keep him in his "Office"

Snuggler is looking good. But till I see him after the shine dulls. Im not going to pencil him Out, or in a top role.
Neighbours will be a needed top nine piece.

How do you get a 5 on 3 PP and not have Bolduc on the ice? I realize he scored on the same PP after it became 5 on 4, but for a team that has issues at 5 on 3 you would think you want that weapon on the ice when it should be easier to get him the puck.

That is a scary line. Need to decide on some contracts soon. Those entry level deals always go by quick.

The future for this franchise is unbelievable. And to have Monty in charge, even better.

We were sold a bill of goods on Bolduc, in a good way. Everything I read early on him made it sound like compared to Bolduc, Kyrou looked like a Tkachuk brother.
Dookie definitely has an edge to him

Although it may depend somewhat on how we do in the playoffs, I would not be surprised to see Armstrong go out this summer to acquire a middle six center. He will either pick up a free agent on a 1-2 year deal, or more likely try to swing a "hockey trade" for a true number 2 center in the 24-28 age range with growth potential.

Compared to the early Kyrou KYROU looks like a Tkachuk.

You can't put up the numbers Bolduc did in Juniors and not have talent. I do agree the "edge" is a welcome surprise.

To note, without looking Bolduc scored 19 goals beginning on 11/25 correct? Thats impressive. I was on the fence about Bolduc till Monty took over I was also a bit skeptical of Snuggerud being able to contribute immediately, Ill gladly eat crow.

So:

Kyrou - (35th 2016) 26 yrs old, top line scorer
Thomas - (20th 2017) 25 yrs old #1 center
Bokk - (25th 2018) WHIFF
Hofer (107th 2018) potential #1 goaler
Broberg (8th 2019) 23 yrs old Future stud #1 LHD
Holloway (14th 2020) 23 yrs old top line scorer
Neighbours (26th 2020) 23 yrs old top 6 power forward
Bolduc (17th 2021) 22 yrs old top 6 sniper
Snuggerdud 23rd 2022) 20 yrs old top 6 sniper
Dvorsky (10th 2023) franchise top 9 center

Honorable mentions - Toropchenko, Tucker, Kessel

Blues fans should be really excited about what the Blues amateur department has been able to assemble WITHOUT tanking for a decade. The ability to maintain good productive veteran contracts and sprinkle in young, cheaper talented kids is what is going to lead to the Blues Golden Era

I'd love to see a third line next year of Bolduc/Dvorsky/Snuggs. Let them develop together. Bolduc isn't being maximized by playing with Joseph and Sunny

Right, sorry, that’s what I meant. Bolduc was a scorer but very slight build. A good breeze would knock him over. That sort of thing.

Bolduc is becoming what I wrongly thought Sammy Blais could be. Sure didn't see that coming.

With lots of interesting picks still to come to the pros… so very very happy.

However obviously broberg and holloway were not really only amateur scouted. And I know you are talking about potential, but I am not sure if pencil in neighbours for top 6 role of a true contender, broberg as a #1 neither

There is going to be heated competition on wing, the Blues in another year will have too many young guns. Where they land is often about roles, line balancing, and fit with other line mates. Neighbours is already the 5th or 6th wing on a talent depth chart but he plays up because of his forecheck and physicality and to help create two scoring lines. When Stenberg and others are beating on the door trades will happen, there isn't room.

Next year's wings, as of now:
Buchnevich
Kyrou
Holloway
Snuggerud
Bolduc
Neighbours
Toropchenko
Walker
Joseph
Texier

Gosh, I'm looking forward to THAT! It would be more exciting with an upgrade at center or an early emergence by Dvorsky.

Can't just have snipers in the lineup, guys have to check and PK too, and handle the opponents physicality. As-is this team is going to be a handful and I expect a tweak or two will make it better.
