Blues vs Jets. Regular season powerhouse with the lights-out goaltender vs. upstart Blues team that battled their way up into the playoffs. Deja vu?
With Holloway playing I'd give Winnipeg the home team advantage and that's it. Without I'd say they are the prohibitive favorite, they are a matchup nightmare in Winnipeg. This, however, is the playoffs. The regular season is over and done, the teams are tied 0-0. The Blues have a chance.

Not to get ahead of myself, but Vegas or Jets are equally tough matchups, it was round 2 where Edm/LA winner was preferred to Colo/Dallas winner

And those of us in the State of Hockey disagree too (Florida)

Re: Ducks choke with 20 seconds left. Blues vs jets
That's where I'm at.
Round 1 either way will be brutal......but I'd prefer the West after taking round 1.
Just great to be in...Blues will surprise.

This is pretty much how I see it as well. With Holloway, I would’ve given Winnipeg about 60/40 odds of winning the series. Maybe 55/45 since the Blues were really humming there for a while. But I’m now going to assume he’ll be out the entire series so that probably makes it more 70/30 unfortunately.DawgDad wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 00:52 am Blues vs Jets. Winnipeg will be missing Ehlers, I think? So that sort of washes with Holloway.DawgDad wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 00:52 am Blues vs Jets. Regular season powerhouse with the lights-out goaltender vs. upstart Blues team that battled their way up into the playoffs. Deja vu?

Blues have to beat the "best" teams in the playoffs to advance.
Vegas has lots of recent success including a cup. They know what it takes and they can do it.
Winnipeg has been perennial chokers and you know that will be in the backs of their minds come playoff time.
That said, I will take Binnington and the hot team over either and further into the playoffs.

Vegas definitely does NOT want to play us. We scare them right now. Jets will fold like a cheap suit underestimating this team.Hooking wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 12:02 pm Blues have to beat the "best" teams in the playoffs to advance.

As far as "bottom half" of playoff teams I am sure nobody wants to play the Blues right now.Aesa wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 12:10 pmVegas definitely does NOT want to play us. We scare them right now. Over past two seasons, Blues have not beaten Vegas in regulation. This year, three losses and one shootout win. Last year, 1 OT win, 1 OT loss, 1 regulation loss.Aesa wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 12:10 pmVegas definitely does NOT want to play us. We scare them right now.
