Fowler has been awesome. Another great pickup by Army. He's having a fantastic season.

Faulk isn't getting traded unless we sign another top 4 RD first and those are about as rare as can be right now.
Something has to give on defense. We have too much money tied up in the defense payroll with Krug coming back. We can't pay them all. We might have to trade Faulk because he is more marketable until we know what Krug is going to be coming off ankle surgery. Krug has zero market value now.
when he was asked if players who previously have returned from this surgery his answer was something along the lines of "not many"

He'll be 34 at the start of next season and he has barely started to even lace them up.

I think he likely has to go through the motions of trying to rehab, if for no other reason than get back his quality of life and ensure he gets his money, but I'd imagine his playing days are done as evidently this surgery severely limits their side to side mobility and as a dman that is crucial.

No flaming, but I would be surprised if Krug's ankle is ever at a point where he can play hockey again at an NHL level. Just what I've read here and there doesn't bode well for him.

He is a lot like Bouwmeester as far as skating ability and hunger for the Playoffs. He is not as big, nor as physical, but his offensive side more than makes up for that.

He is 33 years old and the last time he dressed for a playoff game was eight years ago.

He, lie so many Blues players, must be pinching himself to make sure he ain't in a Dream.

The coups de gras this season was the three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas when we hired Monty and traded for Fowler.
I reckon they hoped Saad would finally wake up and show up every game, but he didn't. Losing Saad was the last piece and I loved how Army took all the heat for that move, keeping Monty fresh and clean.

legit why would you want Faulk traded? This past week he was a top 3 RHD in the league. You can look it up. Broberg got #1 LFD of the week and Faulk got #3 RHD of the week. Last night Faulk legit saved 2 goals. Dude is logging hard minutes right now without Parayko in lineup. He has had a 20 minute game every game minus 1 since the 4 nations. And he has been putting up multiple close to 25 minute games. Faulk is super underrated by this board. I get you are saying he has trade value, but its like Parayko. Who are you going to fill in that price tag to replace them? Leddy only has 1 year left, Fowler only has 1 year left, Suter no years, etc etc. I think Faulk plays out his contract, and HOPEFULLY we can extend Fowler like 2-3 years.

Since joining the Blues:

- Best plus/minus of his career.

- Highest goals/60 mins since the 19/20 season... and that's 32% more goals/60 than 19/20

He is so smooth and cool, with speed for a defenseman.

Another "muffin" move by GM of the Year, Doug Armstrong. :D
Army doesn't know talent.
A fifth grade girl that doesn't follow hockey would know to pick the guy that has played 1000 games on her side.

Has Army found any young Cam Fowlers in the draft? When that happens, THEN you can get out the Army pom poms.

Record with Fowler in lineup: 27-14-4
Without: 14-14-3

Agree about keeping Faulk. RHD are hard to come by.

Binnington, Bolduc, Hofer, Kessel, Kyrou, Neighbours, Parayko, Snuggerud, The Thomas, Tucker and Toropchenko were all drafted lower by the Blues in their respective years than Fowler.

So, aside from those players, you are 100 percent correct

Fowler is starting to remind me of Tab Hunter in the movie "(bleep) Yankees"..

Could he be the Blues Joe Hardy?

You probably complained that Ryan O'Reilly wasn't a drafted player that won the Conn Smythe Trophy.

I'll wait for your answer.

How many of those BLUES players will play 1000 games in the NHL with high impact?
How many of those BLUES players will be traded away in their 15th year, and bring a noticeable upgrade to the new team?

Army has not drafted anyone on that trajectory that I can see.

And because Army likes to draft in the lower half of Round 1, he never will.

It failed to mention that if picking up Fowler was such a no-brainer that a 5th grade girl could have done the deal, how did DA manage to get him before every other GM in the league? Surely, there were other teams in need of someone like Cam Fowler.

Once again, it's logic is that of a pretzel.
