Bedard last season -44, this season -38. Generational talent. Less points than Hollywood. Last year he was scoring points at 90 percent clip. This year he is at 78 percent. I too enjoy seeing the Hawks players flounder.
You took that Bedard is overrated bait pretty quick. He actually is playing better hockey this season. He is on a worse team with theoretical better players but he is learning.
Also, your stat is going to be blown up again by Celebrini, who I would view is playing better NHL hockey. San Jose has a better thing going than the Hawks.

Last year's #2 overall is 19 and playing the most minutes of anybody on defense - right now they're an AHL all star team.
Give it time the Hawks are going to be good. If I was the Hawks I would go after one of these guys as soon as the season ends.
What would lead you to believe this? Seems like a mess.
How much time we talking? The Hawks suck. Not sure that changes any time soon. Maybe Bedard arrives and starts making a huge impact?
They do have a wildcard that could make them a great team...Zach Sanford in in the AHL. Maybe he gets called up and leads them to victory.
The Hawks are in a bad spot because Stan Bowman held on too long with moves like the Seth Jones trade (dealt the 2021 #11... could have had Sillinger, Bolduc, Wyatt Johnston, etc). The Hawks didn't properly focus on rebuilding until after he was gone when Kyle Richardson took over. He flipped their top prospect at the time (Dach) for a 1st in 2022 to start fresh, too. So yeah they haven't made the postseason in 8 years, but their actual dedicated rebuild is on like... year 3.
Bedard's situation is really not like a Toews and Kane or Crosby scenario where they arrived as a bunch of other pieces were falling into place. The Blackhawks meaningful prospects really start in 2022 with Korchinski and Nazar, who are both too young to have made any impact yet. Moore just signed. Leshunov has barely played in the NHL yet. They've been using castoff goalies until acquiring Spencer Knight. Bedard has been playing with leftover scraps from other teams.

This, of course, assuming all of these guys turn into what the Hawks think they will be...which we know rarely happens.
That's the problem with strategies like theirs, you literally have to hit on all the young guys and hope they all pan out at the same time to make a contending team.
If one or two don't pan out, the others do and continue along their journey, some leave in free agency, some get too expensive and you take two steps back.

Yeah it's no guarantee at all. It's why I think you at least have to respect the Blues approach of being realistic about where they stand without totally folding. If you completely bottom out there is no guarantee it works. You risk ending up like Buffalo where you get to draft an elite game changer like Eichel and then are back to square one in a few years.

they are a horrible team
and will be for many years
there were a lot Blues fans in here saying the Blues are not going to make the playoffs and not make it next year. If the Hawks sign a good coach things can turn around for them as just as did the Blues.
This offseason is crucial - they have to land a legitimate coach instead of a tank commander and the hope is that Marner signs in the offseason. Personally I love watching the kids progress and so does the city as attendance is good-great.
