But then the same player gets a double the next AB from a misplayed ball that the OFer didn't touch.

It balances out...
What player are you talking about? Victor Scott has 0 doubles. OldRed was referring to Scott’s line drive to RF that Pages got thrown out at 2B at.

But Scott did turn it into a double as he stole 2B.
Yea. The rule is bad. When it'(poop) to an outfielder it should be called "base hit to right , Pages thrown out on runner indifference"

Reminds me of a few years ago when carpenter was on third base, and someone (can't remember who) hit a line drive that dropped in left field, but carpenter was thrown out. Only time ever ever seen that, but it wasn't a force, so I think batter was still credited with a hit.
It was Tommy Pham who got the hit to center in the second inning and Carp got thrown out at the plate. We lost to the Red Sox on a 9th inning walk off. 2017.

That's an old school save. Close the game with at least three innings, you get a save.

Much more deserved than coming in with two outs in the 9th with a three run lead and no one on base and getting the last out.

Cards sweep and the forgotten arm, Matz, goes 4 scoreless.

And….why are we complaining?

Because that's what he does.

Brings back memories. In general, even the worse of MLB players run the bases at least at a somewhat reasonable level.
At the lower levels, not always the case, as can remember being behind base cloggers that were slower than cold molasses, and/or read the play in front of them with such hesitation/indecision that you were kinda screwed being behind them.
Yeah, never fun to have a hit taken away b/c of bad baserunning, but it's a team game and hopefully you have coaches to help reduce having cloggers ahead of speedsters. Surely Brock and Coleman got a little frustrated at times getting trapped behind slow P's once in a while, but it's all part of the game ................ well, not having P baserunners very often anymore.

"Cards sweep and the forgotten arm, Matz, goes 4 scoreless. And….why are we complaining?"

When you do not read the previous comments it would be the norm to make such a comment. Riff Raff is expected to display such lack of mental acuity when dealing with people who are in reality.

The conversation was MLB rules - "A player hits a shot to right field and the runner on first gets forced at second and the out is charged to the hitter." Other than occurred it Card-Twin game nothing about Cards sweep or Matz per se. MLB rules. That's it.
