Thank you. Already clinched the series, which, if done for the year, yields 100+ wins.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 10:14 am I like it. Switching the lineup a bit, and not sacrificing anything. Walker sitting could also be due to sore wrist.
If the Cards are going to be successful this year, they'll need contributions from 10-11 position players.
Early season declarations (good and bad) are laughable, as is the handwringing ,and sandy panties, over letting others play.
Thanks Duce!

I was expecting gorman to be rotated in cuz he needs at bats and to be rotated for others in coming games but was hoping we wouldnt see pages start alreadyOldRed wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 09:34 amThanks for posting the lineup. I would rather see the same lineup as the first two games because of the great defense. But I guess some players need at bats.craviduce wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 09:28 am TWINS (0-2)

Herrera is under 25……played 2 games……is red hot…..Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 10:19 am I don’t complain about them giving Herrera a break behind the plate. I would think it’s going to be close to a 60-40 split between him and Pages, and I can live with that. However, let him DH and keep Contreras at 1B. The guy has done nothing but hit. I know Oli loves him some Burleson, but no need to force ABs for him.
You don’t sit him
Re: GDT: Cards vs. Twins (3/30) ~ 1:15pm CDT
Contreras will be fine. Its early. I normally wouldnt be opposed to benching winn, but he almost has to start most games by necessity because donovan isnt a shortstop. And while donny would have arenado at 3b, its not like gorman at 2b is gonna help donny with covering ground up the middle and a ss/2b combo of donny and gorman would truly be one of the worst defensive middle infields in the league.Goldfan wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 09:39 amThis team could use a 12-0 start…..it needs confidence and if a lineup is hitting and winning…..I don’t care if bench players need AB’s. Win games. Herrera has been a beast….Walker has been getting on base…..Bench Winn and Contreras if you need to “give AB’s to bench”OldRed wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 09:34 amThanks for posting the lineup. Herrera does not need rest 3 games into the season. And Friday was a day off. Pages is a bloated nothing burger. He should get 1 game a week.
Re: GDT: Cards vs. Twins (3/30) ~ 1:15pm CDT
Not a fan of Oli but I’ll cede to him here.
Only game #3:
Pages is going to catch 1 of every 3 or 4 games regardless. I understand Herrera is swinging it well but catcher being the physically demanding position it is good to keep him fresh. Plus you have LH pitchers coming up so he could easily DH a game.
Gorman needs to play his share. RH SP ok to sit Walker for a game.
Of the 4 reserves who haven’t started first two:
Pages- needs to start every 3rd or 4th game.
Gorman- needs to play also.
The other two supply either late game defense(Siani) or a RH PH bat(Baker).
TLR was a master of incorporating his bench.
Oli has a long ways to go but it‘s a start.

Noot, Donny, and Scott will be the only LH in the lineup.

Re: GDT: Cards vs. Twins (3/30) ~ 1:15pm CDT
This team's biggest issue last year was offense. Pages offers little in the way of that. Why should he be guaranteed more than 1 start per week with the fallout of benching Herrera's bat? Pages should get 30 starts max unless he shows he can hit more.Cusecards wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 10:46 am Not a fan of Oli but I’ll cede to him here.

Reaching game Face is hard. It’s even harder to stay there. Best way to kill game face is not play.
Two games. If they need rest now, let’s just quit.

I agree... he can DH if you want him to have a day off catching.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025 10:52 amNo kidding I guess Herrera can’t start more than one game in a row without needing a day off
