"I noticed, LaViolette is slated to go #13 overall in the entire draft in this mock . . ."
"Remarkable. IMO."
I was able to Finagle a Mock Draft to do my nefarious bidding and rep my dastardly agenda
So even though they really need a power hitting young outfielder, there is no way the Cardinals should take LaViolette if he's there at #5. Is that how you feel? He's still at 1 to six, overall, in some draft mocks I've seen, fairly recently.
So you credit the mocks that say what you want, and dismiss those that don’t? Seems like an intellectually honest, balanced, and unbiased approach . . .
Instead of being a jerk, NY, you should be thanking craviduce for the value he brings to this forum. Probably the most value of any poster on here.
please, keep this particular board non-personal. "Jerk" isn't needed. You already had one thread from Shady that you got Locked by the mods. I don't want that type of trolling, trouble
Stick with what you had earlier about the Power Bats.
It's nice to see more top five draft-worthy prospects evolving. Ex. Arquette, Curley and Houston. I'm wondering who would be more advanced, as far as being MLB ready, Hernandez or Carlson ?
Kilen missed all three games of Tennessee's series win at Alabama over the weekend. Vitello told John Wilkerson — the voice of Tennessee baseball — during his pregame interview ahead of game two last Friday night that it'll take a gradual process for Kilen to return to action. Kilen has been considered day-to-day.
"We were not in the dark, but a little bit uncertain on whether he'd be available or not, so kept quiet for no other reason than uncertainty," Vitello told Wilkerson on the Vol Network. "I think today (Friday), and the days after where it warms up a little bit, he'll start to get some movement. But it's probably going to be an inch back type process, where maybe he'll be able to pinch-hit and then maybe he'll be able to hit, and then maybe he'll be able to get back out there on defense, and then eventually be able to run full speed. But like we've done with other guys in the past that maybe are hobbled, we'll discourage him from running full speed down the line until he's definitely 100%."
The Louisville transfer leads the Vols in numerous categories less than two months into his Tennessee career. He is hitting .431 with 10 home runs, 25 RBIs, four doubles, three triples and 20 walks. Kilen UT's first 21 games of the season.
--------------
so...it'll be slow once he returns. He was having one of the best seasons of any collegian out there. I'd rather he get healthy, of course. I was hoping we'd have a choice of Houston or Kilen at #5 come draft day. Among other choices, lol.
For any of you that follow the draft closely , I live in the Knoxville Tn. TV viewing area. The Vols have 11 highly rated players. Let me know if there are any specific guys you are following and I will do my best to update (from time to time during the college season ) some of their top prospects.
When possible, I try to catch TV sports on the Vols games and watch a game or two.
Vanderbilt (in Nashville ) previously was this state's premiere program but the last couple years the Vols have leapfrogged them in national prominence. Both programs are excellent !

Good point, craviduce. I don't want to be calling other posters names. Of course a number of posters use a lot more disgusting names then jerk. With words that are automatically censored. But I do get your point. I'm sorry I got carried away when he insulted you with sarcasm. I felt an impulse to defend you. But at least I included how much I respect you, and how you're probably the best poster on here. I meant that. By the way, in 18 years on here I have only been scolded once by a moderator. And it had nothing to do with Shady. You must have me confused with someone else.

we have 4 picks in the first 89.... whatever you have, post away The Vols are a National Powerhouse in Baseball. They lose the likes of Amick and Moore, and they just keep on plugging away. Terrific transfers helped LOL.
Here's my question. What happened to AJ Russell? He came back for 1 game, 1 inning, 3 K's...then nothing the last 5 weeks. Did he come back too soon? He's supposed to have better stuff than Doyle. I was hoping he'd be back and going strong by now and ready for the Draft in 3 1/2 Months

Thanks for the nice words, but don't worry, he didn't insult me. We bantered back and forth in Blue Font. We're strange like that.

And while Andrew Fischer might not have the Hit Tool that Curley and Kilen do, he does have the attractive power. I'm not sure he'll be there at #55 in the 2nd round. I don't understand how he went from 13% BB with Ole Miss last year, to 27% with Tenn....must be the lineup , yeah it's the lineup....walk Fischer once Kilen and Curley get on base.
so....anything you ever get on Fischer would be most welcomed

Read the thread again, this time carefully. I did not insult Crav; I was clearly responding directly to Shady’s last post. In fact, Crav and I were actually joking back and forth in the thread (in blue font, no less) about the very issue of Shady’s cherry-picking of mocks. Crav understood exactly what I was saying, so how did it escape your comprehension?
It’s unfortunate that you are so blinded by your personal animosity toward certain posters on here that you knee-jerk react to them without carefully reading the thread, the context, to whom they’re responding, and what they actually said.
P.s. Crav already knows I appreciate all his work on the forum. I’ve told him many times. Like everyone else here, I don’t need or want your unsolicited advice on what you think I “should be” doing. Maybe try better managing your own behavior, and stop trying to manage everyone else.

I believe the Cardinals will consider Jace LaViolette if he's there at #5. I know he's had some strikeout issues this season. But he has big-time power and a quick bat. The tools are there.
Saw where Baseball America said this draft was very deep. Would love to see the Cards make some deals to acquire additional picks for Bloom and his team to pick some talent

again, I couldn't agree more. It's nice having a pick in the 50's again (first time since 2022), but I would love one of those Competitive Balance/Compensation rounds picks tween the 1st and 2nd round.

Cam Cannarella (Clemson) ~ 1-2, Double, Run ....he's hitting better the last few weeks, still not much power, and they aren't letting him run wild on the bases. He's up to .333 BA on the season.... Clemson @ GT
Marek Houston (WF) ~ 0-0, BB. Houston smacked his 10th HR on Tuesday, up to 43 RBI.... WF vs. Virginia Tech.
