Absolutely. The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. People aren’t “bashing” ownership and management, they’re rightly frustrated about the decline of a once-proud franchise that they love. Some fans enjoy watching every game during the regular season. Cheering for a win. Others only get enjoyment out of a WS win. The latter are going to be disappointed 90+% of the time. And constantly frustrated. Which are you, rat?

Well they had a terrible offense that stunk with RISP. And had an average pitching staff. I’m not sure that’s “good” baseball. I’d say that’s pretty mediocre baseball at best.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 10:19 amDidn’t we have more wins than losses last season?OldRed wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 09:59 amI enjoy watching good baseball, not what we have seen the last couple of years. Amazing they still had a winning season with all of that, isn’t it futuregm? Maybe if they improve the BA with RISP we’ll have a division winner in 2025.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 10:35 amWell they had a terrible offense that stunk with RISP. Sure, I guess. But we finished double digit games back in the division for the 2nd straight season, which was the first time for us since the 90s. The best thing about last year was that it somehow landed us a #5 pick.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 10:53 amAmazing they still had a winning season with all of that, isn’t it futuregm? What kind of question is that? I enjoy well played baseball. Not what we have been watching the last couple of years. Last year they had two pitchers and two bench players who have not been picked up by another team. That team was not put together well and anyone with 1/2 a brain could see it. But people in the front office brain wash people like YOU.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 11:08 amHave you enjoyed World Championships in the 60s, 80s, 2006, and 2011? That’s what I’ll tell my kids. “Kids, they won championships when I was your age, and when your grandpa was your age. It was really cool. They’re not really trying to do that anymore, but hey, they won more games than they lost last year and only finished 10 out in a lousy division. Why don’t you not tell people what a fan should do? A fan doesn’t have to be a cheerleader. You can be a fan of the team and criticize them when they are deserving at the same time.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 11:56 amRat, it sounds to me like you should take a little time off from being a Cardinal fan. I’m just not obsessed with doing it constantly like some.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 12:07 pmWhy don’t you not tell people what a fan should do? A fan doesn’t have to be a cheerleader. You can be a fan of the team and criticize them when they are deserving at the same time.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 11:56 amRat, it sounds to me like you should take a little time off from being a Cardinal fan. The best thing about last year was that it somehow landed us a #5 pick.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 10:53 amAmazing they still had a winning season with all of that, isn’t it futuregm? Maybe if they improve the BA with RISP we’ll have a division winner in 2025.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 10:35 amWell they had a terrible offense that stunk with RISP. And had an average pitching staff. I’m not sure that’s “good” baseball. Absolutely. The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. People aren’t “bashing” ownership and management, they’re rightly frustrated about the decline of a once-proud franchise that they love. Could we stick our heads in the sand and say everything is fine? Sure. But that’s not realistic, is it?
Isn’t that actually pretty good baseball?
Sound like a plan? Who wants to have constant frustration?

Re: This organization deserves failure
Because that’s not the way it works. The Cardinals are one of my life’s great passions. Think of it the way you would think of a member of your family. You may be disappointed in them at times for their poor choices, disappointed at times when they underachieve because you know they can do better, but you always love them and want them to excel because you know they can, not turning a blind eye to their faults.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025 11:56 amRat, it sounds to me like you should take a little time off from being a Cardinal fan.
