Trades no but stream yes. I had 110 wins last year and had Skubal and Skenes as my only regular must starts. I stramed the 2nd most points at 3 different positions based on matchups because I didn’t have a top 5 player I wanted to start every game. IMO you can steam more points than a regular unless it’s a top 5 player at that position.mattmitchl44 wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025 07:53 amFrankly, I still don't quite understand the strategic predilection with making an inordinate number of trades. If everyone is reasonably sane, any trade offer should have to be close to 50/50 (or, if you prefer, 25/25/25/25 among "We both win"/"We both lose"/"I win - You lose"/"I lose - You win"), because no one knows the future (in particular when it comes to injury) for the players involved.Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025 19:25 pmLast year, the league had 1,118 total league transactions and 58 trades.mattmitchl44 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025 19:20 pmHow many moves did you make last year - 200+?Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025 19:18 pmThat’s funnyYouboughtit wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025 18:38 pm15 teams with IL and 2 NA? Could we vote on whether we might make that two such spots, maybe at the cost of subtracting one IL spot?
I’ll start up a poll in the next few days, perhaps with three options… one being to add another N/A spot, without dropping the IL slot.
Looking to stream or make trades at all. I like movers and shakers. Not stagnant rosters. Need active owners that don’t just set lineups and look once per week? Speak up if you play like me and like to make a lot of moves so I know who to communicate with.
So, at best, it should be a situation where you believe you have small, marginal advantages (like 55/45 instead of 50/50) in offering trades and you try to compound that advantage over a large number of trades. But it still seems like that can all be undone by one or two untimely trades for cornerstone players who get injured and are out for significant time right as you pick them up.

Well, the problem with that is with the roster sizes and the amount of teams, good luck finding people to stream.Youboughtit wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025 12:37 pmTrades no but stream yes. That may cause me a problem. That’s how I play and where all those transactions come from. I don’t like top play ? I like to know what I will get PPAB and from a specific matchup. So much data available. As for trades. Everyone values certain players differently. I for one target players some others may not value as muchDJ Davis wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025 12:39 pmWell, the problem with that is with the roster sizes and the amount of teams, good luck finding people to stream.Youboughtit wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025 12:37 pmTrades no but stream yes. 12-team, 23-man roster leagues are the minors compared to the depth of this league.
Now it’s a problem?Youboughtit wrote: ↑11 Feb 2025 10:09 amI play a lot of formats. Usually 10 of each sport. It can be a little more time consuming than your default, 12-team Yahoo public or pay league.

Nope. I will get used to it. Just might not find as good of streams as 10 -12 team leauges. I will just draft different and stream fewer spots. Change my top 5 philosophy to to 8. I have a planQuincy Varnish wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025 13:20 pmThe roster size and number of teams should have been clear.Youboughtit wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025 12:43 pmThat may cause me a problem. I put up a poll for this in league chat.mattmitchl44 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025 17:44 pm I think you've now also given us one minor league spot (the "NA" spot) to stash a player.

FYI the NA spot(s) can also be used for suspended or unsigned players.

@ Quincy…
My 12 team H2H points keeper. Can keep up to 5, one has to be a pitcher.
Jose Ramirez
Mookie Betts
Bryce Harper
Jazz Chisholm? I think he’s money in NY and that lineup, CBS ADP of 40
Spencer Strider? Seems like a long term no brainer. Gallen is my only other SP worth mentioning, or I could leave a spot open and take best SP in the predraft round.

I’d be trepidatious about Chisholm or Strider, but would probably go with Strider. Jazz is just too injury prone, but I do like him in that lineup.
What are your other options? No “Babe” Fitzgerald?

I can wait till keeper deadline to see what SP will be available in the predraft.
I’m crazy but healthy Jazz could be 25/40. I’m a dreamer.
Strider play would be more for going forward with him rather than 2025. I’d draft knowing I have to hedge on him.

Given the options… I might actually lean toward Jazz, but I’m not sure where Strider is getting drafted. I’d probably want them both… you could still draft Strider, right? An Old Friend wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025 12:20 pmOh, you know I have Fitzgerald!Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025 11:47 amYou get the whole offseason to decide on keepers? An Old Friend wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025 11:23 am @ Quincy…

Strider’s ADP is low, but I think he’s a guy that a team with a gross keeper list reaches for. Like, there’s a guy who is likely keeping Yordan, O’Neil Cruz, Junior Caminero… he has Skenes. It’d be really tempting for him to pair Strider with Skenes going forward since his position players blow.Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025 12:25 pmGiven the options… I might actually lean toward Jazz, but I’m not sure where Strider is getting drafted. Yordan doesn’t blow & it looks like he digs the high ceiling players… so ya, Strider’s probably on his radar. You could just plan to draft him a round or two earlier than his ADP.An Old Friend wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025 12:41 pm Strider’s ADP is low, but I think he’s a guy that a team with a gross keeper list reaches for. You can keep both Strider & Jazz, right?
