I’m feeling pretty good about having your 11th round pick, for nothing. :D
He has exactly 1 strikeout in the last 2 weeks. I haven’t been missing that ⚡️

…you’re counting on RPs for Ks? Okay.

I was thinking Almonte might take the job, but he and Leiter both stunk it up yesterday. Now I’m swarming the Cubs options… another free closer, yay!

Also having fun watching Severino throwing a no-no v. the Cubs (on Dazepster’s bench, lol)

…and two bombs from J Turner, only in the 3rd

Point being that’s literally all he’s done. 0 wins, 0 saves, 1 K

I ain’t got time for that lol

Oof, Daze.

Your boy is gonna be on waivers tomorrow. Have fun.

I’ll probably pass. Need to start catching up in IP, and soon. Should get Steele back sometime next week, but it’s not enough.

Another masher of a day here... 5 bombs, 10 RBI, .400+ AVG / 1.400+ OPS. Things are clicking.

Barking Lion wrote: 30 Apr 2024 21:17 pm Fantrax has a great matchup section. It also allows you to do expected starting pitchers out for a week. With Yahoo, I have not found a convenient way to see who will start tomorrow or the next day. I only see the same day. It does me no good if it takes me until the next day to get my waiver through. Fantrax has more convenient research tools with more experts writing. Price? I was paying $35/season with payouts for the first 3 places. Btu the commish used a different site to collect fees and do payouts because he didn't like Fantrax's mechanism.
With Yahoo, there is a green dot next to a starter’s name whenever he’s starting. You can forward through every upcoming day to see which starters will start… you can also see which position players do not have a scheduled game, and adjust your roster accordingly.
Sad reality is that, despite my name closers, I still in 5th place in saves, 12 back from 1st. One thing life has taught me, and fantasy ball has only bolstered the fact, is that a commodity is worth what someone is willing to pay. I notice you traded Steer to someone else. You didn't value him that much.
I did not want to trade Steer, and I valued him tremendously. However, I also wanted to improve at SS and offered two very good hitters (not named Steer) for Francisco Lindor - that was rejected, and the counteroffer was for Steer.
Perhaps you have his stats covered. Steer is looking good this season but is still a mostly unproven sophomore. I thought he might be worth a Sewald. Later in the seasons when a team needs saves to win, one of my closers may be worth more than I felt you offered. But I didn't feel your offer gave me much help.
Sewald was, and is injured… not sure why you would think Steer (who was ranked overall top-10 at the time of these offers) would be a sensible ask, even if Sewald was healthy. People value their players differently, as you have noted, but IMO - thinking Steer was a reasonable ask for an injured Sewald (or even a healthy Jansen) was downright silly. One of the offers I made was admittedly a low-ball, but it was intended to indicate how I value closers - not highly. Instead of an injured closer (Sewald), I now have a premium (though underperforming) SS in Lindor.
My team is starting to pick it up and now I have to not let the hole get so deep that I can't make up ground.

In the ongoing tales of “What Is Going On Here?!?” - I was the sole bidder for Tyler Black, while Matt & Jeffy went bonkers for Nick Senzel.

Ha, yeah, kind of funny on Senzel.

Black is a nice move, really high floor. I think you'll have him for at least 2-3 weeks before you trade him

I was too slow on Taj Bradley, was eyeing him but was trying to free a roster spot with a 2 for 1 trade.

I didn't put in any bid for Senzel.

I put in a bid for Taj Bradley, IIRC, but Jeffy outbid me.
Ahhh… my mistake. Taj makes more sense. It was Jeffy & imadamnman that went for Senzel.

I still have Westburg, don’t I?

But yeah… if you want to peer into the mind of a crazed, obsessive trader - Black could give me what I want from Kim, which would make one of the two available 🤪

There's a guy in my 12 team money league that would rival you in number of moves / trades. It's pretty funny. All a prospect has to do is breathe and get called up for him to roster him. One bad game gets them jettisoned.

mattmitchl44 wrote: 01 May 2024 10:21 amAnd Black may be a nice move. But notwithstanding what he might have done before this year, FG only had him as the 10th best prospect in the Brewers system with a FV of 40+.

I'm not sure about cycling through all of the FV 40+ prospects who might have gotten off to a good start in AAA this year.
Is that what I’m doing? You always seem to know  I bet it’s also “desperate”…

I’d like to know… who are the 9 Brewers prospects FG has ahead of Black?

I'm just saying, when a lot of other guys - more highly thought of - are being brought up and failing, I wouldn't assume that Tyler Black is anywhere close to a lock to succeed. He may, however.
He was MLB’s #48 overall prospect heading into 2024. Who are the 9 Brewers dudes that FG has ahead of him?
So it MAY turn out to be a shrewd move, or just another move on your path to 1,000,000 for the season.
Don’t underestimate me. I’m shouting for 2,250,000.

I haven’t been chasing after many prospects, at least not like that. The guys that I’ve picked up that could be considered “fringy” aren’t lottery tickets, and serve a purpose - like Knack… warm body in the Dodgers rotation could give me Ws. Anyway, I’d rather not be cycling through so many players… it’s going to slow down when I get caught up in IP.
