What the heck are the Nationals doing?

Traded Luis Garcia Jr. (26 years old with an .873 OPS and 76 RBI) to the Yankees for

3 relievers and a 24 year old SP prospect that was drafted in the 15th round, is on the IL and has reached as high as AA.

Luis Garcia, Jr. is similar to Nootbar in that he will be a free agent after next season.

I guess they decided to trade high. The Cards do not have that option with Nootbar anymore.

The Nationals have been rebuilding for quite a few years now. They are experts. Do not question them.

Well the good news is they won't have many leads left to save now. Garcia is 5th in the NL in RBI and 16th in OPS.

What can I say, they'll miss him. But the Nats lead the world in scoring so they're dealing from strength and they had a real need to fill.

Thats a big bat

I guess the Yankees are looking at Jizz Chisolm Jr leaving in the off-season. So they've been looking for another big left-handed bat to maintain control of for next year.

For their sake I hope Judge gets healthy for the playoffs and they can capitalize on the "Judge window." He's an all-time Yankee great and it would only be right for him to go down as a WS winner. Of course that isn't how baseball works.

If all healthy, Judge, Stanton, Rice, Chisolm, Garcia, and Bellinger would make a formidable group in the playoffs. With Paul Goldschmidt on hand. They certainly aren't short on starting pitching.
