Bregman sure would have looked good at 3rd for the Cards.
But that's all right because Bloom and DeWitt are getting that talent pipeline up to speed and int 2 or 10 years they'll be a juggernaut.
The difference between spending to win or tanking. Oh excuse me, I meant "rebuilding".

You aren't wrong. And if we ever had a hitter go 9-17 in a series, im confident the opposing manager would be smart enough to walk him in a key extra inning spot. Our dugout dumb[ash] doesn't get it. OLI BALL

Yes, plus it sets up the DP. Whatever...JuanAgosto wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 17:15 pmYou aren't wrong. And if we ever had a hitter go 9-17 in a series, im confident the opposing manager would be smart enough to walk him in a key extra inning spot. Our dugout dumb[ash] doesn't get it. OLI BALL

I think it looks like a good idea because we just saw Bregman and his best 4 game series of the season. 10 hits, 7 XBHs, who wouldn’t want to have that but that 35 million AAV is going to hurt over the next 5 years.

This is going to be a longgggggggggggg season for some of the posters. Every loss will be woulda, shoulda, coulda and no recognition of what the team is trying to do for the long term.

Look at his career stats and sneer. Where would he be on the depth chart for the Cards?

32 year old with league average OPS+, making $175 over the next 5 yearsCCard wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 17:36 pmLook at his career stats and sneer. Where would he be on the depth chart for the Cards?
Keep believing in his career numbers, and ignoring his injury history

You don't know how he'll turn out. He may well slow down some, but at least the Cubs are trying. Enjoy Blaze Jordan and his 1 homerun.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 17:44 pm32 year old with league average OPS+, making $175 over the next 5 yearsCCard wrote: ↑30 Jul 2026 17:36 pmLook at his career stats and sneer.
