Minor Leagues ~ Molina, Odle, Davis, Henderson

Post by craviduce »

Today's Starters

MEM (58-44): LH Mason Molina (0-1, 10.97) at Jacksonville (MIA)

SGF (48-47): LH Braden Davis (1-4, 4.77) vs. Wichita (MIN)

PEO (45-50): RH Jacob Odle (2-1, 4.09) at Cedar Rapids (MIN)

PB (49-46): LH Ixan Henderson (AAA rehab) at Fort Myers (MIN)

-----------

If only Memphis were playing St. Paul this week...the continuity...one could only dream

And then we could cap off the TC week theme with a Leahy/O'Brien/Nootbaar trade for Walker Jenkins/Cash Considerations

one can dream... I'd do anything for a Klondike bar and/or a Walker Jenkins trade ::crazya::

Urias was HBP this weekend and left the game very early in Memphis...I wonder if this pauses his rehab?

per @Cardsplayerdev

Congratulations to 3B/1B Jack Gurevitch (A+) on being named Midwest League Player of the Week!

Gurevitch slashed .500/.565/1.350 across five games, leading the league in HR, XBH (7), OPS and TB (27).

The 22-year-old homered and tallied multiple hits in three of five contests, including a 4-for-4, 3 HR game on July 21 vs. West Michigan.

#1 and #2 in the Peoria lineup. If the bullpen could only do their job, Peoria would be a Playoff team.

Monk would redo the Memphis schedule.

this will be his 4th AAA start. 10 2/3 IP, 17 H, 13 R, 10 BB, 16 K, 2 HR, 1 HBP.... his K/9 is really good...the rest is

I don't expect any 1 game reversals. I think you can draw on the K/9 that's he's still a good pitcher. It just takes a while to adjust and learn the threads of the AAA/MLB ball.

And I'm not saying he'll be like Mathews either. But you can use Mathews as a standard if you wish. Last year, Mathews had several games, that while poor on the stat sheets, were really good for the 1st inning, then a start or two later that was really good for the first 2 innings. Then he would have a start where he struggled through the first 2 innings, but adjusted in the 3rd inning, and came on strong in the 4th.

I expect a lot of early exits for Molina the rest of the season, with a few starts here and there that show a good progression. Next season is the key...will he overcome this, or will he become a Graceffo...destined for the BP?

my dream is someone besides Mathews becomes a fast riser/or pushes for a rotation spot out of camp next year.

Molina is freshly 23 so maybe itll be him, or maybe something clicks with Doyle or Cijnjte. I personally want a 3 year contract for a vet because I dont see anyone being ready before trade deadline next year except Mathews. Too many need innings built up or development. 2028 is when we really get some excitement on the pitching front.

I don’t know about a 3 year deal, but maybe on a similar deal to May if he’d do it….Freddy Peralta?

I really want to see Tekoah Roby pitch again.
