Interesting trade that you don't often see.

Nats traded Curtis Mead to Boston straight up for Connelly Early.

Curtis Mead is the closest thing to Walker right now in baseball. Came into this year with a -0.2 bWAR in 488 PAs and having a breakout season in his age 25 season (.254/.352/.500 2 bWAR and 17 HR 48 RBI). Baseball Prospectus had him at 16th best prospect in baseball at one point, MLB had him at #33 at his best.

Early is currently on the IL, ironically his last start before getting hurt was 4 shutout innings against Washington. This season he's got a 3.44 ERA in 17 starts with 93 K in 91.2 IP. He's 24 years old and has never had a season with an ERA over 4, probably ever.
