Blues Broadcasts

Post by Aesa »

Anyone heard any viable news or rumors about who will be carrying the Blues games this year?

My buddy who has season tickets for Nashville told me that their games are going to be broadcast on local TV and they will have free streaming available as well. I'm wondering what the Blues will do as well. They only have 2.5 months till the season starts.

The full NHL season schedule is supposed to be released tomorrow, so hopefully they'll announce the various local TV situations not long after.

I wonder if they somehow end up on the Cardinals streaming platform since they already have an infrastructure. The Cardinals pay the Blues and the cable companies pay the Cardinals. And the Blues sell their own subscriptions to those that don't get it through their cable provider. I am actually surprised the Cardinals never sold the naming rights to one of the gambling companies.

I could be wrong but I heard the Cardinals channel on DirecTV (and the cable networks) was part of the MLB broadcasts. If the Blues go to a streaming service (I truly hope they work something out with a local station) the streaming service will likely be Victory and will not be cheap.

I would be shocked if Matrix MW isn’t involved in some way with selected games. I don’t think the Blues will go the full streaming route. It’s been a failure for the most part with the MLS and the Blues have been one of the most watched local markets in the league and I don’t see them risking that audience.

I have no idea if DirecTV will offer Center ICE, but it is a subscription service on top of the DTV cost. If they charge you for it you must have signed up for it. If they don't offer it, they can't charge you. That is called fraud and you can call Brown and Croupen to represent you when you sue the [fork] out of DTV. 😎

Agreed. The Cardinals stepped up, or somebody did, and have the majority of the games on a cable channel. Hoping the Blues do the same. Fingers crossed.

Out of market? ESPN+ is the way to go, mostly.

Exactly, there is just too much to lose going strictly streaming.
