Re: Carbs Article
That was a good read. Thanks for posting. Carbo could play in the NHL, but I believe the Blues are not going to be in such a hurry to give players roster spots. They will be shuttled back and forth from Springfield until they claim their spot on the roster. No more OJT at the NHL level. We have more prospects and competition for jobs than ever.

Good read. Thank you.
For me, it's no longer what he says. It's what he does. On the ice. Consistently.
He has the talent. He just needs to do it. I have no doubt he will. I just wish it was sooner than later. He'll be a good one in time.

I want carbs to get a few games if he tears up camp. I know ahl is most likely. But he can do it he has the speed, skill, physicality, shot and desire.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑13 Jul 2026 17:42 pm https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/st-louis- ... rty-can-he

the hard part is he has to light up the lamp when he's up. The spot he would take would be over a good 2 way player. So the expectation is that the guy would score goals at something like a .35 .4 gpg pace which I don't know if that's something we want to do to him this year. Next year, things start to iron themselves out with a couple contracts being up. Much more forgiving roster to make errors with.Nublues69 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026 11:20 amI want carbs to get a few games if he tears up camp. I know ahl is most likely. Re: Carbs Article
If the team is serious about not face-planting out of the gate like they did last season they likely won't run out a greenhorn rookie with virtually no pro experience. It's easier to hide a RW than a RD but still, why not step him up the development ladder?

bergren is not good and needs to go. end of story we need a scorer and we need to move on from buch. Stenberg was better than bergren down the stretchcallitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026 11:29 amthe hard part is he has to light up the lamp when he's up. Rule #1 in youth development, in any field, is that it's not about what YOU NEED, but what's best for the kid. I get how preachy it sounds, but there's a reason it's oft repeated. Promoting him now because the team "needs" help is how bad teams ruin rookies.Nublues69 wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026 13:03 pmbergren is not good and needs to go. end of story we need a scorer and we need to move on from buch. We could have zero right-handed shots and it wouldn't change what's best for Carbs. And that'll be determined by where he can get the most ice with players who can utilize his skills without him developing bad habits. That's what training camp is for.

Re: Carbs Article
I agree with this wholeheartedly and why I think it will be tough for him to crack it this year. The pressure for him to score goals will be way off the charts and probably not deserving. He doesn't have a two way game that is the same as guys like neighbours or buchy and its unfair for him to be expected to have that. And it's way easier to bench a guy like berggren and by cycling thru stenberg and others before anointing the 19 year old to the day 1 roster.Army's Mom wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026 13:43 pmRule #1 in youth development, in any field, is that it's not about what YOU NEED, but what's best for the kid.
