Lewandowski is on fire!

Post by todd-parker »

Sorry, he is A Fire. 37-year-old Robert Lewandowski leaves Barcelona and will be signing with the Chicago Fire. The league's reputation as a retirement spot for aging international stars is bolstered.

Hopefully there will be scouts from St Louis City SC at the US/Bosnia game to identify Bosnian players for future additions to the club.

The team is not going to just sign Bosnian players because we have a Bosnian population here. That would be the definition of myopic.

Myopic is why Lewandowski signed with Chicago, and he's not the first. The Bosnia community here would be the attraction. One of their players is from Wisconsin and has family here.

Here's the Bosnia roster and their Clubs. There are some reasonable transfer fees for some. Maybe City can work out a loan for others.

The team regularly sells out the stadium - it would seem misplaced and myopic to sign a player because there happened to be a representative community present. I know we all have World Cup fever but there are many, more important factors to consider. If it works out, it works out, but its an assumption that the team doesn't already have a team scouting players, regardless of what national team they might represent

I'm just guessing here... but I feel like skill, talent, cost, right fit for the team...count more than what their national identify is.

Comparing Son and his career to a random player on the Bosnian national team is a bit of a stretch.

My bad, I shouldn't have posted a soccer response to your soccer response to my soccer statement in the soccer forum. Apologies.

No - you posted a Dick answer pretending that we want a player only because he's Bosnian - every player on their national team is better than the MLS....even the 40 year old.

Buzz off.

As good as Edin Dzeko was, I wouldn’t want him now.

I wasn't comparing players.

I made a comparison based upon the criteria you mentioned....... attendance and community.
