He has a 218 BA and a 532 OPS vs lefties.

Needs a platoon partner.

Maybe Bloom should trade Burleson to The Cubs. How would you Burly bashers like that? Especially, Burleson facing the Cardinals pitchers at Wrigley Field.

I think batting him seventh would be ok. He can gain experience batting against lefties and the guys who hit them can carry his lard butt over the finish line.

Midmo, I know you are trying hard to fluster me and impress your cronies. But I just can't see your posts.

I doubt seriously if Bloom would trade Burleson within the Division. Not sure who the Burleson bashers are. I try to be neutral to players as it relates to the Cards MLB roster. Burly plays a good 1B and currently has the best bat to ball skill in the order. He is blocking some up and coming talent. He is in his fourth service year. He would likely bring back some nice prospects (see Donovan, Brendan). You never know.

The temptation to do so is compelling but you fool with what’s been working.
If it ain’t broke, let’s don’t fix it.

I'd be breaking in I. Herrera at 1st base and just sitting Bison when a LHSP is on the mound (bringing him in once the LHSP departs) if this continues into the ASB.
.218/.532 is terrible
This is why many saw him as a platoon only player prior to 2025 when he finally broke out vs LHP: .271 .310 .398 .708.
But he's sliding vs LHP again.
Give him half the season to find it again vs LHP.
If he does, then great.
if not, then sit him w/a LHSP on the mound.

I'm OK with dropping Burleson is the BO vs LHP. But who do you replace him with? And no to trading Burleson at this time. Recently, they managed to win the game, but it was a rather dubious looking lineup, overall, without Burleson's presence in it.
