You might get Hensler but you aren't getting Yakemchuk.

Does Kyrou have family or a lady in Ottawa? If not I can't imagine he's waiving to go pay those taxes living there.

Nah he's from Toronto. He'd have to want to go to Ottawa for whatever reason. Probably not high on his list.George Zipp wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:35 pm Does Kyrou have family or a lady in Ottawa? If not I can't imagine he's waiving to go pay those taxes living there.

I don't think in all the years Ottawa has had a team, I have ever heard someone requesting to play there. Pretty crazy when you think about it.bluetunehead wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:38 pmNah he's from Toronto. He'd have to want to go to Ottawa for whatever reason. They wouldn’t need to add a first rounder. I’d do Kyrou for Yakemchuk straight up. I doubt they would, or that Kyrou would go there though. But since we’re trading guys with NTC’s to Ottawa we might as well ship them Parayko for Pinto as well.

NHL salaries are paid in USD so after the exchange rate Kyrou is basically making $11 mill CAD, right? the taxation difference would cost Kyrou about $1.5 mil ish per year maybe the exchange rate helps

Giroux is just about the only one who comes to mind, and he's a local.ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:45 pmI don't think in all the years Ottawa has had a team, I have ever heard someone requesting to play there. A package for Pinto would be great. The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:52 pm They wouldn’t need to add a first rounder. I’d do Kyrou for Yakemchuk straight up. On a aside, JK would bring a solid return no matter where he went.

I agree with you about Kyrou. But Yakemchuk is their top prospect by a wide margin and I doubt they’d trade him.dhsux wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:57 pmA package for Pinto would be great. The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:52 pm They wouldn’t need to add a first rounder. Well, it's not a far drive from Toronto to Ottawa and also not that far from Division Rivals Montreal, Buffalo even Detroit and obviously Toronto. So, his family can get there without a very difficult trip at all and stay in a nice hotel. AND he avoids the Maple Leaf Twilight Zone.bluetunehead wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:38 pmNah he's from Toronto. Those guys are so busy in-season. I think we make a bigger deal out of whatever City than the majority of players do. It's about the team, the opportunity to win, the opportunity to achieve and being paid well.

Re: Kyrou trade speculation to ottawa
someone of hfboards suggested th following for Kyrou
Grieg, Hensler 1st
I would probably take that. Grieg is center depth and is only 22. Hensler is 6'3 rhd dman 1st is a first.
Then we can use our picks move up and get stenberg
holloway thomas Snuggerud
neighbors dvorsky carbonneau
stenberg buchnevich stenberg
Greig Finley walker torpo

Correct me if I am wrong but Ottawa's first is like 32 isn't it (the compensatory pick)? That isn't much of a first.Nublues69 wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:19 pm https://www.nhltraderumor.com/ottawa-se ... -analysis/
I would take that in a heart beat

The upside is they would likely pay more for that reason if we could get Kyrou to approve. He'd be a superstar among there options.ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑13 May 2026 13:45 pmI don't think in all the years Ottawa has had a team, I have ever heard someone requesting to play there. I think we have a little of that here in STL as well. Not as much people don't want to play her as much as we are just rarely at the upper portion of the list.
