The back up hiding from the coach so as to not go in for Binnington. Was this ever addressed? Asking for the fans outside of Saint Louis.

Yes, was addressed. He wasn’t hiding. Chicago’s arena doesn’t have enough room on the bench for the backup so Hofer was hanging out in the locker room but with the top half of his gear off. Once it appears Monty might want to go to the backup, he quickly got his gear on and peeked out but by then, play had resumed and Monty just stuck with Binner. So he wasn’t “hiding” but it did make for a funny situation the national media twisted and ran with.
