Logan Stanley

Post by Bluesfan1978 »

Not much of a UFA market that I’d want the Blues to try and sign but I would check into signing Logan Stanley if I could get him for 3-4 years.

I didn't look deeper, but only 17 games this year?

He’s huge and he’s mean but when it comes to actually playing hockey, he sucks pretty hard. Maybe if we’re talking a 1 year deal around $1M to compete with or replace Tucker or Kessel but 3-4 years? Hard pass on that.

I just read he’s looking for a 5 x 5 deal. I didn’t know that would be the cost.

I wouldn't want to give more then 3 for him. If he was on my team Id rather another play his position.

I don’t see Stanley getting 5x5 from anyone but we need a couple of guys like him on our back line. Big and nasty…..yes please. I guess we are hoping we find some of this in some of the guys we have coming up but we have missed this from our D for a while now.

His AOIT in the playoffs last year was below 12:00. This year with Buffalo, it’s around 13:00 and dropping fast in the Montreal Series (from 19 Shifts against Boston to 16). When he did get minutes, it was the 6-1 victory over Boston… so mop-up time

Last 3 Games ATOI
5/10 - 11:51
5/8 - 10:27
5/6 - 12:52

In the last 2, he racked up 14 PIM and a -2. Montreal isn’t exactly the team you want your 3rd Line D to gift a Powerplay to.

Why would the Blues spend in free agency on a LH D, when they already have Broberg, Fowler, and Lindstein for LH D? The Blues would need to find a team to take Fowler, and I don't see that happening.

Blues have better internal options.

1. Jiricek
2. Tucker
3. Kessel
4. Ralph
5. An orange traffic cone

I was looking at it to add toughness. The Blues have no one to standup to other teams and keep them honest.

Brian Sutter, just before Butcher trade 35 years ago.
