Not a huge deal, but Saggese was sent down for a reason. I just don't see why Fermin should lose a start due to Saggese.

This is just stupid….another time I think Oli is off his rocker with the lineup.

True.
With JJ at the LO spot or anyone actually, the lineup, imo, should have a little OBP at the bottom.
This one has none. At least put Fermin in there. For the people who
wanting Torres or Mendoza brought up this exemplifies why.

+1 it’s nuts saggs is in there. Hopefully he has a chip on his shoulder about being sent down and only getting called up because of an injury and has a big day

agreed.. but at least Scott isn't in there.. Oli got it half right
Don't get me wrong. I think Saggese is a jag. But they've spent a lot longer evaluating him and the rest of these guys everyone wants to see play. And they clearly have more patience and believe in certain players ahead of other players than we do here on CT.
I see the lineup change with Saggase getting his first action in days has got the anti Oli brigade out early tonight. If Saggese is on the team he has to play sometime. I don't see a big deal. But it serves the purpose of giving the complainers a reason to complain.
I for one am enjoying this team play hard every night. I can't think of too much negative right now. I know Gorman is up and down but I still think if he gets just a little more consistent he can be an asset to this team. I am glad he is getting a long look. I am not sure if Scott will ever be consistent enough to be an everyday player. That is the biggest negative I see right now among the young players.
Despite the dislike of Ollie and staff the team plays good, sound baseball and rarely beat themselves. They slso seem to enjoy playing. I think Marmol has done a good job and somehow is surviving the weaknesses inherent in his pitching staff and the lack of trusted bullpen options.

I agree. IF I was going to critique this lineup, I would say you weakened your outfield defense badly with Saggese in left field. If it was a game I had to win, I would want Scott in center and Church in left. That defense is $. But as you said, players have to play. And it's a long season. It's Saggese's turn. It doesn't make Oli stupid.
The debate should be, does he belong up with the ML team.
He is up, so hes got to play. I dont think hes any of our first choice to be up here, but if he is, they've got to play him now and then to keep him somewhat ready. Thats why I'm surprised that Pozo doesn't get more ice time.

That is exactly what I thought when I saw the lineup.
