Very impressed by Mr. McGreevy’s poise on the mound. Seems wise beyond his years. He’s fun to watch.

One year Tudor had like 60 ish straight scoreless innings?? Am I close?

Not close. 31 I think was his streak. 1985. 18-8 I believe.

I believe he went 21-8 after a 1-7 start. 1.93 ERA I think. Finished 2nd in Cy Young to Dwight Gooden who was phenomenal. What a year!

I never understood Tudor’s pitching. He couldn’t break a pane of glass from 50 feet, yet they couldn’t hit him. He was truly a pitcher, not a thrower. Very fun to watch him baffle the opposition. He had ”it”.

Some of you forgot how good Puma was.

A career OPS of .943
10 seasons with 90+ walks
Athletic enough early in his career to be a full time CF
Killer from the left side, but still a plus hitter right handed

Burly is no Puma. Fine hit tool, but nowhere near the elite and complete player Berkman was. I think the comparison gets drawn more due to physical appearance than anything else.

Also McG is more comparable in style and aresanal to a young Waino. Tudor was a unicorn of sorts.

He peaks at what, 91-92? Might as well be 85 in this day and age.

He went 21-8 that year. Apparently his high school catcher saw him pitch on TV and called him because he was doing something wrong. He was 1-7 at that point. Went 20-1 after that the rest of the year. Incredible season….
