Blackhawks getting top prospect Roman Kantserov from KHL
Big news for the Chicago Blackhawks, and honestly their future is starting to look really dangerous. You’re talking about a young core featuring Connor Bedard, Anton Frondell, Artyom Levshunov, Oliver Moore, Frank Nazar, and now Roman Kantserov and they still have the 4th pick in the draft.
That’s a lot of high end skill, speed, and offensive upside coming together at once. If even most of those players hit their ceiling, Chicago is going to become a brutal team to play against over the next few years. The scary part is they’re building it the modern way too speed, transition, puck movement, and dynamic skill all over the lineup.

Don't we all know about this potential?ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑08 May 2026 11:23 am Big news for the Chicago Blackhawks, and honestly their future is starting to look really dangerous. But they should be far better than they are now and so far they have not done a good job with what they have and likely just as important what they don't have.
12 1st's in the last 4 years, right? Good grief.

He's a second rounder, not a top 5. So, he's obviously crappie. They must've been afraid of drafting a top 5 player...

Drafted just in 2023 and already over a pt/game in the KHL. Yeah, he’s small. Could he the next Panarin though. A great find for that Hawks in the 2nd round unfortunately. :/skilles wrote: ↑08 May 2026 14:45 pmand smallArmy's Mom wrote: ↑08 May 2026 13:47 pm He's a second rounder, not a top 5. It's possible the Hawks are assembling something powerful. Still, it's very hard to get to the Cup and even harder to win it. Right now my money's on San Jose, but they have a ways to go.

When you tank for 8 seasons in a row and consistently draft in the top ten, eventually you should get better.

And them trading Pararin years ago is relevant to them potentially getting another small star winger with a 2nd rd pick how? Are they somehow destined to trade Kantsrov away for some reason?DawgDad wrote: ↑08 May 2026 16:43 pm. . . because Panarin worked out so well with Chicago.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 May 2026 16:15 pmDrafted just in 2023 and already over a pt/game in the KHL. And yep. Hard to win the Cup. Them, SJ and a few others are building likely juggernauts.

Wonder how bad he'll be for the locker room. Probably real bad.
Spoiler

Cool, maybe they'll make the playoffs before the end of the decade. All of the skillz, none of the winz.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑08 May 2026 17:32 pmSo is Kaprizov - this kid just beat his record.skilles wrote: ↑08 May 2026 14:45 pmand smallArmy's Mom wrote: ↑08 May 2026 13:47 pm He's a second rounder, not a top 5. Nah, it's much more fun to watch Bedard shatter sticks at the end of a game in frustration.
