The good start rolls on

Post by BrummerStealsHome »

I'm enjoying this season already, and was set to do so with very low expectations. I am trying to keep them in check. As long as they don't finish in last place I'll be happy as long as the young players continue to develop.

It's a small, barely significant thing, but the Cardinals are 21-14. Last year they finished 78-84 for a .481 win percentage. That percentage over the remaining 127 games would produce a 61-66 record, bringing the season record to 82-80. A WINNING RECORD. Woo-hoo! I wonder who they'll face in the '27 World Series?

Me too Brummer... I was thinking that I would just enjoy seeing how JJ does in his rookie season and if things went well they might be a .500 team. Never thought Walker would actually figure it out... But watching Winn and JJ in the field is worth it, Winn is starting to hit, JJ has been off the charts good and I expect he will continue to improve. I know Batting Avg is a totally passe stat, but I expect that JJ will hit north of .270 before season's end. Church has been fun to watch as well and he is heating up. McG has been the best pitching surprise, as well as O'Brien. We just need some more pitching and one more bat. I can't help but feel Pallante will turn back into a pumpkin... I figured Ivan would hit..... Burley and Gorman are sort of what I expected. Both are playing better D than I expected though. We shall see what they do with Noot when he returns.

Main thing is these kids don't know they are not supposed to be pretty good. I think Winn said they were going to play like their hair was on fire, and that is exactly what they are doing. Energy of youth!
