Thanks. Looking a lot better than a couple years ago. IF the Cards don't compete for WC this year, and JJ wins ROY, they could add to this list:
Three top 50 picks this summer
Two top 35 picks next summer
Some return this July from trading May/Romero/etc.
A couple Int'l adds
That would be some real depth by July 2027. Hope everyone stays healthy and keeps developing.

It's nice to have some top talent for a change. When Mathews is one of your very top prospects, that's not a very good thing. When he's at the lower end of your top 10, that's much better. Starting to get some depth.JohnTudor1985 wrote: ↑04 May 2026 12:42 pm Thanks. Looking a lot better than a couple years ago. I would like to know who was #11--because I don't consider JJ a prospect anymore.
Using the VERY scientific method of "Can I buy their shirsey for the St. Louis Cardinals?" (which I did, on Saturday) then they aren't a prospect anymore.

Not understanding why Ty Van Dyke is not there either. He has impressive numbers so far this year for palm beach.

IMO: Cardinals need to go pitching with their first 2 picks in this year's draft. We need more high end pitching prospects.

Nice list. Probably time for Rodriguez to head to Springfield.
I'd rate Bernal ahead of Crooks personally, but probably splitting hairs.
I'd like to see Crooks replace Pages at the MLB level and Bernal get an overwhelming majority of the reps at AAA.
I know, Crooks Ks a lot. Just wanted to save some of you the time of telling me something that I already know.

Will likely take best available, but I agree with your overall sentiment. Feels like the offensive side of the rebuild is nearing completion; but on the pitching side, the organization is full of SP 3's. Hopefully, Doyle, Franklin and others can break thru. A few strong college pitchers added this summer would be nice.

JJW is no longer a "prospect"

Correct. He is a bona fide All-Star caliber MLB player.rockondlouie wrote: ↑04 May 2026 13:26 pm^^^THIS^^^Strummer Jones wrote: ↑04 May 2026 12:56 pm I would like to know who was #11--because I don't consider JJ a prospect anymore.

Re: Kiley McDaniel's top 10 prospects for Cardinals
1) He wasn't on any list coming into the season ~ Top 30, Top 25, Top 15/10....he's probably moving up some ranks and not on others.StlMike1969 wrote: ↑04 May 2026 13:02 pm Not understanding why Ty Van Dyke is not there either. He has impressive numbers so far this year for palm beach.
2) He's almost 23 pitching to a bunch of 18yo....if he gets a promotion Peoria and dominates there, then he'll get some recognition. Not a lot, but some. I doubt he'll touch any Top 10.
Note ~ Franklin and Van Dyke were two the pitchers I was most excited to follow this offseason. Good see both doing well. And good to see both getting fan recognition and a few pundits, too.

No surprise to see Cijntje, Bernal, and Mathews fall.
Expect that to continue - with Bernal the strongest bet to remain in the top 10 a year from now.

Mathews will likely not be in the Top 10 next year because he is in the majors, either as a starter or a reliever.
