So happy for Underwood especially. Dude has put in a lifetime of work to get to this point grinding through the lower levels. He's never been viewed as an upper echelon coach because he hasn't won enough in March, but the guy has always been a winner. Glad to see him finally get his due. Especially considering this is a guy who has had Illinois marked as his dream job for years. Go get 2 more coach!

I had mashed potatoes to go with my serving of crow last night.

My doubts about this team being able to play defense well enough to win 3 or 4 games in a row were shoved down my throat and I'm fine with that.

The numbers actually look better than it feels on shooting. I mean, we hit treys at 41% and made 15 total against Penn, but only made 9 each against VCU and Houston, and then only made 3 against Iowa. It never felt like we were shooting even that well.

Defense and rebounding. That can also win games against good teams when you're not drilling double digit treys. We held 4 teams in a row under 60.

That's nails man. I hope they come up with an executable game plan for Reed and all that double screening that UConn does.
