Re: STL Post projected Cardinal 2026 roster
Years past I used to make fun of other city/teams.
Was not very nice about it
We would pick players from these (bleep) teams and say the Cards should trade for them
Well here we are
Not sure this (bleep) team has that player to trade for now
Get those season tickets!

Re: STL Post projected Cardinal 2026 roster
Velazquez has been a pleasant surprise, hopefully he doesn’t turn into a pumpkin at midnight! I still don’t understand the Urias signing. All he's doing is blocking playing time for younger players who were suppose to get a look.
Church is currently playing the best of all of our outfielders, except maybe Baez! Church should be starting, and if Scott continues to not get on base, then Church should be the CF’er. Scott’s defense and speed potential are why he’s starting, but Church is just as good defensively and has some speed too, and he actually gets on base.
As I said before, Walker needs to go on the disabled list and get his head and batting eyes straight.
Yesterday’s games, there was no Crooks in either one. I guess we know what they think of him! Looks like we are stuck with “ no hit “ Pages. Too bad he can’t pitch, where we could use some no hitters.
Mathews looked good, hopefully he keeps getting better and we see him up soon.

Re: STL Post projected Cardinal 2026 roster
Graceffo has been up and down between Memphis and St. Louis the last couple years.
Is there a reason he wouldn’t be on the opening day roster ahead of Roycoft or Pushard?
He was pitching for Italy in the WBC, did he get overlooked.
I haven’t paid much attention to spring training so maybe those others guys have shown better stuff.

Re: STL Post projected Cardinal 2026 roster
No huge surprises except maybe a couple in bull pen. Offense potential is just hard to predict. IH, Burley ( I’m not sure), JJ (rookie yes I know he is a superstar) and Velazquez(???) and not much else. Hopefully Winn does better than ST. As with any rebuild just a lot of questions but every time I look at the outfield I just cringe.ramfandan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 05:14 am Released by Post Dispatch early A.M. March 20th .. Unable to watch any ST games so going off stats and the good info from other posters:ramfandan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 05:14 am Released by Post Dispatch early A.M. March 20th .. Note: No one specific writer from staff given credit

Pushard- rule 5 so has to stay.
Soriano- our of options I believe?
Saggese- I like him getting regular AB’s rather than sitting on the bench.
It’ll be interesting to see mix and match in OF.

Soriano is out of options, but he's also been killing it this spring. 12k/9, no walks, and fewer hits than innings pitched. There's no way you leave that in Florida.Cusecards wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 08:40 amUnable to watch any ST games so going off stats and the good info from other posters:ramfandan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 05:14 am Released by Post Dispatch early A.M. Pushard...I don't know. Just hasn't been very impressive. Lots of K's, but also significantly more hits/walks than innings pitched. Lots of loud outs, too. Maybe he makes it over Graceffo, since Gordo missed a lot of time in the WBC and (I think) still has options. But I don't know.
Saggese: I'll agree with you on that. I just don't know where he fits in right now. Urias is the better player. Saggese really only fits at second base, and JJ ain't letting that go. Sure he *can* play SS/3B, but I don't really like him at those places much. His arm limits him defensively.

Haven’t seen Soriano pitch but he has been impressive. Big arm which is what they’ve been looking for.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 10:30 amSoriano is out of options, but he's also been killing it this spring. 12k/9, no walks, and fewer hits than innings pitched. Saggese could be next up if Gorman flops again?

I haven't been able to catch every game...but each time I've seen Soriano, he's been electric.Cusecards wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 10:37 amHaven’t seen Soriano pitch but he has been impressive. I would think Urias is the real Gorman insurance, and Saggese would become the new Urias, who himself is probably this year's Brendan Donovan.

The ONLY ????? I have is Roycroft...........that new pitch and tweak he made better show up in the regular season and the nerves need to be long gone.ramfandan wrote: ↑20 Mar 2026 05:14 am Released by Post Dispatch early A.M. March 20th .. Note: No one specific writer from staff given credit

And I would've had R. Fitts in the SR, Pallante in the pen' instead of Roycroft.

Roycroft has pitched well. Pushard being rule 5. If he makes it it's because of this. Graceffo probably should be over Pushard but Graceffo has options

Now the question
With Weatherholt and Velasquez making the team opening day. Who goes off the 40 man roster
