Which Cruz?

Oneil vs Elly
Elly has had more hype all along it seems. It has appeared several times that he is on the verge of a breakout season, or in the midst of one. But his offensive numbers have not yet been anywhere near what people think he's capable of.
Oneil on the other hand, you can argue has disappointed or just not materialized. But he comes into 2026 participating in a lineup that has a few more names in it including Marcell Ozuna. What are the odds Elly has another similar season to the ones he's already had and Oneil Cruz hits 35 homers? And I think they'll shift him to right and have Jhostynxin Garcia in center.
Speaking of Ozuna, I imagine it's possible either Cruz could end up having a similar later career peak.

Both are severely overrated. All flash, very little sizzle. Dime a dozen.

Probably a good thing.
Both likely prefer it that way.

How long do they last in MLB. Grichuk just notched his 10th season, why wouldn't these two have nice long careers?

They might, but they will get several years because of the "hype" alone.

I liked Heity. Before he was Heity he was Hector, and led the Cardinals in home runs one year . . . with 13!

Would have been nice to have kept Jose. Good hitter. Could run.
