Per Eklund (E4) - Thomas & LA
As seen on Twitter…take it for what it’s worth…
Rare night post…
Big rumor out of LA and STL..
Hearing the Kings could be preparing a massive package for Robert Thomas — including top prospects, a 1st, and more.
Players possibly involved in my blog on Hockeybuzz.com

Absolutely love Cihar..mentioned him several times during the WJC threads but that package just isn’t enough.

Work Brzustewicz into that package and it gets very interesting. Still too “futures based” but that could be a home run kind of package if all goes right.

Brandt Clarke at a minimum included.
Re: Per Eklund (E4) - Thomas & LA
Eklund is still a thing?
Re: Per Eklund (E4) - Thomas & LA
No way Doug trades Tommer without a young Center prospect coming back in the package.

LA is a plausible trading partner but this is exactly the kind of pressure (this is a rumor coming out of the LA side of things you have to assume since there's zero chance Armstrong is leaking this) that a team like Seattle has to step up and snag. I mean I would not hate Jake O'Brien coming back in a package. That feels like the player who'd have to be involved from them

I see it differently. Army will go for the most value even if a center isn't coming back. We can get our center through trade at deadline, or prospects this summer. We still have other assets to trade at the deadline that can bring a center too.

Jake O'Brien from Seattle or Michael Hage from the Canadians. With Kyrou going from the Blues. That would be our young center to build around.seattleblue wrote: ↑16 Feb 2026 19:11 pm LA is a plausible trading partner but this is exactly the kind of pressure (this is a rumor coming out of the LA side of things you have to assume since there's zero chance Armstrong is leaking this) that a team like Seattle has to step up and snag. Maybe? But I feel that are too many variables with getting a center in a trade. Who is trading a number one center? No one. They may trade us a possible future number one in a prospect, but that prospect is just a suspect, until he isn't. And if it is the draft, then we are what, waiting on 4 years or so to be competitive again? None of the centers, in this year's draft, are number 1 centers. I just don't see it. I don't think Army is going to hand over a total rebuild to Steen and if we trade Thomas without an unreal package coming back, that is exactly what he would be doing. I see your point. I thoroughly enjoy the rumors, but I believe the only way we trade Thomas is for an overpayment in return. I really don't see Kyrou or Binner going either. If we gut the team, we will be really terrible next year. At least we have a respectable first line of Thomas, Kyrou and Buch. I think it will be Scheen and Faulk getting traded. Maybe Sunny if he wants another Cup.zuck698 wrote: ↑16 Feb 2026 21:16 pmMaybe? But I feel that are too many variables with getting a center in a trade. Who is trading a number one center? No one. Yeah, rumors are fun. I agree on Faulk and Schenn being traded. Or at least they should be. The packagehockey jedi wrote: ↑16 Feb 2026 21:43 pmI see your point. quoted by Ecklund certainly isn't enough to move the needle. Any G.M. making that trade, without another number one center in their pipeline, isn't going to be a G.M. very long.

There sure are a lot of trade rumors for two guys that have no-trade clauses.

I just don't see us really trading Thomas. Young, long term contract, top line centers are the type of thing you want to have badly in a rebuild. Unless there is something going on in the locker room with him, you would have to get an insane package to entertain dealing him. Kyrou, if he was willing to waive his no trade would be plausible, but he too is not a guy you should typically look to move- unless of course there are effort and locker room issues which seems to be the case with him. i will be surprised if we dont see most of a group of Parayko, Schenn, Faulk, Binny, Fowler, Suter, Sunny, and Joseph moved.

Re: Per Eklund (E4) - Thomas & LA
We're NOT trading Thomas... why trade for a young center prospect when Thomas is only 26? AND at a reasonable contract.
