Is he an option. Old but might do one year deal. He appears to realize he is on the tale end of his career although he thinks he can play into his 40’s. Not everyday outfielder but could platoon. Apparently still has offense from right side. I don’t see many great options left to give us a right handed outfielder. Like I said he is old. Had some injuries. But maybe especially if IH does catch, he could provide adequate DH.

I love the idea of Marte. Great defensively player, great locker room guy. Had a very solid year with the Mets last year. Now THIS guy would be a good positive addition gor the young guys to be around if they're actually looking at a vet presence to be added.

Good call if this team was trying to win this yr — unless i am misreading things they want to give toms of ab’s to as many kids as they can

Marte understands his role has changed and would play platoon no matter where he signs according to various accounts.

Yeah, maybe ha can bring some PEDs for the young kids to use and make them stronger!

That was back in 2017. He’s forgiven.

I have been wanting him on this team for 4-5 years. Not a fit now imo.

Long term I think you’re right but for a one year deal he would be a veteran presence on a young team and give some offense from the right side. Not sure one year is possible. Also by signing him you don’t have to trade any more assets at this point.

Doesn’t make sense in a rebuild.

Marte over Castellanos but neither is a wise move.
Maybe next offseason?

Heck no. Next offseason we need to be ready to add legit difference makers in the spots that we dont have production at.

No, seriously. Maybe he can bring in some stuff for the younger guys. Imagine Burleson with a little quicker twitch muscles?!?! Noot may bounce back from injuries faster with a little HGH. Gorman might hit 50!
Lol
