Starling Marte
Is he an option. Old but might do one year deal. He appears to realize he is on the tale end of his career although he thinks he can play into his 40’s. Not everyday outfielder but could platoon. Apparently still has offense from right side. I don’t see many great options left to give us a right handed outfielder. Like I said he is old. Had some injuries. But maybe especially if IH does catch, he could provide adequate DH.

Re: Starling Marte
I love the idea of Marte. Great defensively player, great locker room guy. Had a very solid year with the Mets last year. Now THIS guy would be a good positive addition gor the young guys to be around if they're actually looking at a vet presence to be added.
Re: Starling Marte
Good call if this team was trying to win this yr — unless i am misreading things they want to give toms of ab’s to as many kids as they can

Re: Starling Marte
I have been wanting him on this team for 4-5 years. Not a fit now imo.
Re: Starling Marte
Long term I think you’re right but for a one year deal he would be a veteran presence on a young team and give some offense from the right side. Not sure one year is possible. Also by signing him you don’t have to trade any more assets at this point.kscardsfan wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 19:19 pm I have been wanting him on this team for 4-5 years. Not a fit now imo.

Re: Starling Marte
Marte over Castellanos but neither is a wise move.
Maybe next offseason?

Re: Starling Marte
No, seriously. Maybe he can bring in some stuff for the younger guys. Imagine Burleson with a little quicker twitch muscles?!?! Noot may bounce back from injuries faster with a little HGH. Gorman might hit 50!Jatalk wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 18:28 pmThat was back in 2017. I was all over trying to acquire S. Marte a years ago when he was a Pirate and on the block.

I'd still take him.
