Not this week's Powerball numbers but Bloom's draft picks in the Top 100 for 2026 draft. Anyone have any prospects/suspects for any of those selections ?

I thought it might be a Chicago song, 25-6-4, something like that- ha.

I thought that he was headed for "In the Year 2525." Of course, it would have taken some time to get there.

Per the picks, "Prospects ARE suspects until proven."

Yes, and the more top suspects drafted the better the odds that a few become good prospects. So having 6 suspects in top 86 better than having the usual 3

Ha. If man is still alive.

Then I thought is was some wild double play combination?

Per prospects-and they are years away. But. Once a farm is established then the prospects will become more consistent good players. The more the merrier.

Why can't Bloom guarantee the fans that all six of these picks will be MLB all stars next year? Come on Chaim! I thought you were a real POBO!
(Do I need to use blue font?)

Agree with establishing a good farm system. That has been Bloom's thing at Tampa and Boston. One thing that I think gets a bit overblown is that the 'prospects are 'years away' ... has a connotation that the drafted kid may be in minors for 4 years , etc. Good players seem to move thru the systems much faster. A good college player rarely is in the minors too long these days .

Last year with 55 and 72 we got Mitchell and Franklin. Going to be a very exciting draft. Hope to add a rookie of the pear player promotion pick to the 27 draft!

Yea you may be right- quicker movement. Makes sense- if we become a top notch farm, would seem some platers would emerge sooner, hence quicker movement onwards.

I remember we were in a similar situation in 2012 - 19 23 36 52 59 and 86

We did get Wacha Piscotty Wisdom and Kelly out of those picks, but I felt a bit robbed after all the hype leading up to it.

Every GM has 'misses' and 'hits' in drafting players whether MLB or NFL .

A Hall of Fame NFL GM Ron Wolf Green Bay Packers put it best years ago . A reporter was praising Wolf on his draft ability . In fact, the reporter said some of your 3rd round picks have made it big over your 1st rounders over the years.

Wolf replied, ' Every GM has players you 'miss ' on as well as ones you 'hit' on. The key is 'If you 'hit' more than you 'miss' , then you are doing your job pretty well I guess.

Same will be true for Bloom .

How many top 100 picks become top 100 prospects?

And how many top 100 prospects become top 100 MLB players as ranked by whoever put out the list last week?
