Answer to question we will never know .
For those wanting to keep Donovan and suggested he be signed to a long term extension , we don't know how Donovan felt about that .
Many MLB players want to test the 'free agent' waters when they completed their 6th year.
Some assumed that Donovan would sign an extension . Unsure of that here . I have my doubts .
If Bloom had the feeling Dononvan would not give up some free agency years to sign an extension , it may have made it easier for Bloom to
get a good package now rather than wait til trade deadline or worse yet next year when just one year left .
Would Donovan have signed extension ?
