Bloom: ' I don't want this to be a day-to-day issue ...

Post by ramfandan »

Bloom's quote from Sunday's Tom Ackerman show on KMOX referring to Donovan.

"I don't want this to be something that's a day-to-day issue hanging over us in the spring. So, if there is something that is put to us that makes sense for us to do, as difficult as that would be emotionally, I'd like for that to happen before camp opens. I don't believe in setting any official deadlines here. Obviously, we never turn our phones off. But our mindset will be that we would like to get that clarity for us, for Brendan, sooner rather than later.

Look for closure on this issue likely in the next 10 days or so.

Bloom has set a very steep price for BD, or Boston would have pulled the proverbial trigger.
He is, IMO, handling this just right.
Play the field, and do not be afraid to keep Donovan on the roster. His value mid-season may even be higher.

Or the return for his value might just be greater or a better match to our needs. Return does not always equal value, and I think that's been the disconnect this offseason. Markets can move even if his theoretical trade value doesn't change.

He doesn’t want this to be a day to day issue…..
Well who else but Bloom has made this a day to day issue??
Is there any other player currently on roster that is being thrown out in trade discussions by the POBO?
Since the end of WS it’s BEEN ONLY BLOOM making this an issue. No one else has the power to leave a player dangling all offseason
One sentence could say He’s traded or he’s staying here…..then no issue
