Wright/Kyrou - FWIW
It’s from Twitter, take it for what it’s worth…
David Pagnotta: Re Shane Wright: From Seattle's side of things, they want an upgrade; this isn't them packaging him up for Artemi Panarin...this is Jordan Kyrou-esque, somebody in their mid 20s that is controllable - Sekeres & Price (1/23)

Re: Wright/Kyrou - FWIW
I haven't followed his development closely, but I'm curious if anyone has any educated thoughts on Wright (Seattleblue, I'm looking at you)...my impression of him is that he is cocky and not a great teammate, but that impression, admittedly, isn't really based on anything besides his infamous death stare at the Habs brass during the draft. Looks like he has a pretty solid year last year as a 20/21 year old, but maybe has taken a step back this year (although he only turned 22 a couple of weeks ago.)
So...does he need a change of scenery? Is he a bust? Is he a future #1 center? Is he a locker room cancer? Inquiring minds want to know...

Well, the Blues would be sending out a known coach killer, so baggage would be expected. Which hurts the team more: a cocky confident cancer or a casual coasting coach-killer? Seems someone with a chip on his shoulder might be the better gamble…
Let the Wright one in!

My next door neighbors are Kraken season ticket holders in their 70s who we chat with when we see outside with dogs. Like two days ago they were getting in their car to see the Ducks game I happened to be out. I told them I hoped we traded them Kyrou. I may have said 'dumped Kyrou on you' can't be certain ...

Re: Wright/Kyrou - FWIW
shane wrights production for is a lil better than dvorskys and he is like a year and a half older.
I think trading kyrou to them for shane wright, fiddler and 1st 2026
I think thats a fair trade for kyrou

You aren’t getting any extras for Kyrou. No way they are moving Wright and a first. I still believe the Blues have to add

This sounds familiar!Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 09:34 amWright has to be the #2 center…He’s shown he can produce when playing top 6. This year he’s not and his numbers are down.

44 pts, 19 goals in 79 GP career high... I think Dvorsky can surpass this next season easily but the thought is good however you shake it out if it werePierre McGuire wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 09:34 amWright has to be the #2 center…He’s shown he can produce when playing top 6. Thomas
Wright
Dvorsky
Bjugstad/Suter whatever
I like the group, gritty ish, skill, some speed. For a legit 2nd NHL center Wright has to be a 50+ point guy, 60 on a contender

I think its pretty even.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 09:35 amYou aren’t getting any extras for Kyrou. No way they are moving Wright and a first. I still believe the Blues have to add

I don't know much about him outside of the draft slide. But last year FO 44.5, this year 37.3. Last year 55% points percentage so a 45.1 pace per 82. This year 35% point percentage for a whopping pace of 29 points. We have posters grilling, Broberg, Hollywood, Dvorsky, Snuggs, and we think this is the answer? I'm not opposed to change of scenery trades. But I'd be looking more at Byfield than I would here. If you were looking at more of a 1 for 1 trade.

The difference being though that Wright may very well be available while I doubt Byfield is. The Kings are extremely thin at center once Kopitar hangs them up after this season.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 09:52 am I don't know much about him outside of the draft slide. Byfield was their heir apparent but with his season they might go after some bigger fish, but they'd likely still want him as their #2.

Re: Wright/Kyrou - FWIW
It’s about as close as a one for one hockey trade can be. Only say the Blues might have to throw in a pick because of Wright being younger.skilles wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 09:51 amI think its pretty even.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 09:35 amYou aren’t getting any extras for Kyrou.
