In 2021 Cleveland traded a 17 yo Junior Camarino for a AA pitchers, Tobias Myers. Myers initially flopped and Cleveland didn't even keep him. He has since had some middling success in relief for the Brewers.
Camarino put up ROY numbers at age 21, but barely exceeded eligibilty requirements since he's been up and down since age 19.
These are the kinds of trades that move needles, not taking injury risks or B level prospects for expensive vets because they come cheap.
How does Bloom leverage his extensively revamped scouting and evaluation system to find some real diamonds who Albert Pujols can describe as "future HOFers"? We have plenty of OK AA pitchers with some level of trade value.
We either find these guys in intl signings initially or by trading other prospects for them. Lets see it happen.
Junior Camarino trade - how does Bloom focus his elite scouting on these types of trades?
