Mailloux is offensive alright
Good lord. As someone who is labeled with good instincts on the offensive side of the puck he seems absolutely clueless.
He looks like the guy in men’s league that gets the puck and is immediately afraid. Every play he makes in the offensive zone is the wrong one and you can see the frustration sometimes from teammates where you know they are thinking wth.
I know he needs time but give me even an inkling of skill. So far it’s gross.
I wish nothing but the best but I haven’t even seen a flash.

Sorry for your frustration. I see flashes of really good play. He's really inexperienced. I think he's going to be fine. Let's give him a year before the forum makes him the whipping boy. There's plenty of underperforming players to analyze.

honestly, for the last 20 games? he looks absolutely fine. Good? Not really. Bad? not at all. As a young guy I think that's a solid place to be in.hockey jedi wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 20:48 pm Sorry for your frustration. I see flashes of really good play. He's really inexperienced. I thought he played alright tonight. Good assist on the Kyrou goal. Some good breakups at our blueline. Passed up a good shot chance from the center of the ice in the 3rd, which was probably frustrating to the OP. Overall, he looked ok tonight to me.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 21:13 pmhonestly, for the last 20 games? he looks absolutely fine. Good? Not really. Bad? not at all. He had some good and some bad tonight. I was happy to see him out there in OT too. Let him try to show us some offense

Yeah, I'm starting to rather see him out there than Tucker and I think he's surpassed Tucker at this point. While that, in and of itself, may not be some monumental accomplishment - him surpassing Tucker after half a season points to his upward trajectory.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 21:13 pmhonestly, for the last 20 games? he looks absolutely fine. Re: Mailloux is offensive alright
He’s hands down one of the worst players in the league.
Re: Mailloux is offensive alright
Because you’ve seen them all, right Shakey?
Re: Mailloux is offensive alright
Like I said, there was good and bad. Those were the bad. Also the crash into Hofer was caused by him initially getting beat.
But yea I do want to see him on the PP and in OT. We’ve got to see if he’s got anything.

I’d argue the Hofer collision was on Schenn. He put Mailloux in a no win situation. Mailloux can’t concede the offensive blue line or it’s a 3 on 1. He ended up mitigating one of the 3 options, and was then playing catch up. But your forward absolutely cannot lose the puck there.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 22:49 pmLike I said, there was good and bad. Those were the bad. I thought he had a solid game
Seen mistakes by our top 4 that impacted the game but of course let’s criticize LM

Re: Mailloux is offensive alright
It will take some time for Mailloux to improve offensively. He does seem accurate with his passes though. In the 1st period he was activating to join the rush and I think it was Torpo turned the puck over and it ended in a goal for the Kings. Each time a play like that ends in a goal I’m sure it knocks him back down a bit. I liked his awareness to pass the puck to Kyrou. Now I’d like to see #23 start taking some hard shots at the net.
Re: Mailloux is offensive alright
This is it.
On a comparative basis, night to night, why people go after the rookie is beyond me when there's a feast of mistakes to see from others.
He's a minus 2 in January...that's not great...Tucker is a minus 3....but for Mailloux it's progress and pretty much what you want to see 37 games into a career.
