Andersson to Vegas

Post by 93 »

Looks like it's Vegas who ends up with Andersson per EF.

The return is from what I saw Whitecloud, 27 1st, 27 2nd (changes to a 1st if Vegas wins cup, Abraim Weibe

**edit - didn't see anything right away on any salary potentially retained by Calgary

I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a franchise more than the a knights. It’s not the winning really, it’s the constant skirting of the rules and the NHL’s willingness (especially early in Vegas’s history) to turn the other cheek.

He wanted to play in Vegas and he held all the cards. Can’t really fault Vegas for that.

At what point is the league complicit though? They have half a dozen teams playing at what has become a huge advantage with the taxes. Not to mention teams (Vegas being not the only culprit here but the most unrepentant and obvious offender) completely circumventing the salary cap. Yes, the league has finally put a stopgap in place this year on the fake injuries but only after years of Vegas and Florida and TB and Colorado working around the rules to win cups.

Wanna bet that Vegas gets Panarin too?

In a vacuum I don’t really care about Rasmus A. having some say in where he goes but when the majority of players (who ARE in a position to determine their own future) pick between 5 or 6 teams only, that’s a problem.

Armstrong has nothing but good things to say about their organization and has handed out many compliments.

Does that anger you? Is he lying? Does he just not get it?

Vegas comes in and just clowns the rest of the league. I wish the Blues were this committed to icing winning teams

I like Whitecloud, so that’s a pretty reasonable trade for Calgary under the circumstances.

They are nowhere close to attracting anyone.

Losing culture

Nobody cares

Everyone on the table for trades

Who chooses such a thing?

I don't see it that way. In the short term they did not add a right handed d man they upgraded (by not that much in their top 4) switching out whitecloud and then gave up a first, a second and a d prispect. Was the differential between whitecloud and andersson worth it? Is it going to get them past Colorado? If they sign him, he is I guess Petro's replacement.

It’s a team in general that will do anything to improve. They don’t give a (bleep) about firsts and honestly I’ve been saying for a long time they are highly overrated by most. Unless it’s a top 10 pick, I’d trade it for a sure thing known commodity almost every time

Yup. Andersson gives them lots of options, brings offense and personality. Blocks a lot of shots and committed. Another guy that can can play 23+ minutes if need be. Marner wasn’t enough and they needed to try and plug some of Pietrangelo’s hole.

Whether it works out or not…at least they are committed to beating the Lanche and have a very high quality product.

Great GMing

Vegas makes huge trades and signings every year doing everything they can to improve. Players want to sign there because of it. We get to watch Sunny on the powerplay.
