What is going on internally with Thomas?

I believe there is a story there that only insiders know. Has he become a player that likes the nightlife? Why would the Blues consider trading him? He looks discouraged and disinterested most of the time. I've heard he's playing hurt. Is that the reason he has difficulty receiving a pass or getting a shot off quickly? Is he mad at Army for not making Team Canada? There's something going on.

The Olympic dots that I connect....

Thomas played hard late in the regular season last year.
Thomas concurred in some interview that I saw that his participation in the Olympics was at stake, so he needed to play well, etc.
Thomas had a very successful finish to the year.
Thomas likely felt that he had a good chance to make the Olympic squad, especially since his GM was in the room.
Tampa Bay players certainly benefited (Hagel, Cirelli, Point) from their coach being in the selection room.
Based on the look of it, I don't believe Thomas was ever in the running for a roster spot.

I don't know if Thomas is upset and disappointed, but I certainly wouldn't blame him if he was.

I guess it is just a byproduct of our GM sticking his nose into every sideshow boondoggle that he can.

We don't need to see Thomas on the ice in the Olympics, Blues fans. We have something better. We get to see our superstar Army eating lobster at the front table.

I think he was rushed back the 1st time he went out. Him and neighbours both came back early to stop the landslide

Well his game is and has been what we are not accustomed to seeing so it's a fair speculation but that's what is is as of now.

I'd be shocked to find he's a problem player in the locker room with attitude or disgruntled issues and best I can guess to move him would be to shake up the team for the sake of it more than the beginning of some kind of rebuild.....but of course I am speculating as well.

In my opinion this would be very short sighted, stated as such without knowing what the return would be but knowing how short the team is now at center along with being pretty confident RT will ultimately get back to himself post injury or post funk.

So in this thread we have accusations of :

Thomas partying too much
Thomas disgruntled about not making team canada

Thomas doesn't care and isn't trying hard

Thomas is on the IR and has already been banged up this season. I think facts speak for themselves.

The OP is nothing more than baseless accusatory speculation. Is the Golden Rule even a thing any more?

The answer is no, unless or until there is corroboration.

Suggesting perhaps Thomas may have been bothered by injuries all along this season is a REASONABLE QUESTION, not baseless accusatory speculation. It's an unanswered question. It seems clear to my eye he has been playing hurt at times, but he has appeared healthy at other times.

These weren't accusations, these were rhetorical questions (hence the question marks). As for as documentation, watch the games. If you can't see something is significantly different about his game this year, then you don't know hockey. Again, as for the injury, has he been playing hurt since game #1 of the season?
