Looking Texas and Utah for wins.

I can see Texas losing this game.

They shouldn't but it wouldn't surprise me.

Michigan and Nebraska both gave up 40+. Don't win many games that way.

Ohio St looks they haven't played for 3 1/2 weeks, which they haven't. Expect OSU to pull even in Q3.

Something needs to be done about teams being off for over a month before playing in the playoffs. Way too much time off and not conducive to the best football. I know it's school and finals, but over a month off is just way too much.

If I was off work for over a month, I'm not sure I'd even remember what I do there any more :D

Well, one game in and one upset. Miami dominated, impressively.

What is the all-time record for collegiate football playoff teams with a first round bye to date?

0 - 5

With conferences having 16 (SEC & Big XII) and 18 (B1G) teams we should hold football like wrestling. Seed teams on day one and have “wrestle backs” after one loss and see who wins.

Alternatively, have no more than 16 team conferences and mandate 12 conference games. Then only send conference winners (3) to the CFP plus one other for a four team playoff.

The bye teams are now 0-5 in the CFP.

Expand the playoffs to 16 teams, eliminate conference championship games, and let the teams rest for one week before the playoffs.

That should do it.

No byes.
If you hate the idea of byes you'll really hate this.

The 5/11 proposal that is gathering steam would increase the number of teams to 16, the top five conference champs and the next best 11 teams.

Under that proposal the top 12 seeds would get a bye the first week.

For the second round, the top 2 seeds would get another bye.
