Blackhawks....
....are 1-7 since Bedard went down.
I know he's good...real good.....and I know they weren't exactly on fire before the injury....but I'm surprised to see how they have responded to losing him.
Their D has given up 4 goals a game in that interim as well.
8 years of low picks.....I just thought this teams talent level was better than this.

Re: Blackhawks....
The 2 keys to them overachieving was Bedard becoming elite and Knight playing extremely well, coving up a lot of the Hawks defensive issues.
Since the injury Knight has also come down to earth. Throw in Bertuzzi scoring at a 40 goal pace so far.

This is why tanking isn't the best move. If it happens, it happens. You look at teams like Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit (although they may be coming out of it).dhsux wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 11:40 am ....are 1-7 since Bedard went down.

Re: Blackhawks....
Chicago had no choice - Stan Bowman made terrible draft picks, signed terrible contracts and traded away prospects for little to nothing.
Re: Blackhawks....
I say this all the time, you have to be right more times than not with the draft picks and, as we all know, that rarely happens.Tony Palazzolo wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:22 pmThis is why tanking isn't the best move. I mean, we are done with another NFL season, look at the draft positions, how many of those teams have been picking top 10 for as long as we can remember and are still terrible?
Re: Blackhawks....
He's the only reason why the Blues have Broberg and Holloway: Bowman has no idea what he's doing. He thinks his name makes him the smartest hockey mind in almost every room. He's probably not even in the top three at his own family meals.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:36 pmChicago had no choice - Stan Bowman made terrible draft picks, signed terrible contracts and traded away prospects for little to nothing.
Re: Blackhawks....
Spencer Knight was a great pickup, but they still have talent gaps. A couple more years and I am sure their fans will be happy with the team.

Agree. And Sonny Boy Stan seems to be doing the same krappy job in Edmonton. People don’t seem to understand that the Blackhawks Stanley Cup core was built by Dale Tallon. Stan Bowman is just a member of the Lucky Sperm Club.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:36 pmChicago had no choice - Stan Bowman made terrible draft picks, signed terrible contracts and traded away prospects for little to nothing.

This is nosense.
I remember when Colorado, New Jersey, Edmonton, and Florida was the very good reason teams shouldn't tank. This year maybe next. You'll need another group of bad teams to call, 'the reason.
As teams you listed, like the teams listed ten years ago, Will become Cup competitors. And a couple. Cup winners. Like the Blues after there last tank.
Hopefully we don't have to do another 40yrs before we hire a smart gm. Who is more worried about the team. Then their own legacy.
Re: Blackhawks....
At the oil man BBQ the other day we were talking about tanking. Army said he wants to but Steener is not on board. They are still discussing it and who will host the BBQs starting next year.

Re: Blackhawks....
They have a guy drafted in the same class as Bedard that's a current MVP candidate for the KHL - Kanstserov - he's probably the closest to being their next offensive star...Frondell right behind (he's built like a tank) With that said this team is one of the youngest in the league under a new coach/system and next season they'll be even younger - I didn't expect much this season and I should probably lower my expectations for next but it really looks like they're putting together something special as long as Conor is healthy.

Although they havent been competing for a bit now, i am still envious of what they are building. They are going to be a lot of fun to watch and they have the talent to back it coming up.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑30 Dec 2025 11:51 amThey have a guy drafted in the same class as Bedard that's a current MVP candidate for the KHL - Kanstserov - he's probably the closest to being their next offensive star...Frondell right behind (he's built like a tank) With that said this team is one of the youngest in the league under a new coach/system and next season they'll be even younger - I didn't expect much this season and I should probably lower my expectations for next but it really looks like they're putting together something special as long as Conor is healthy.
