Can Mizzou afford a top five rated QB in the portal?
I like the idea posted about getting a proven commodity. For at least a season with the tough schedule coming up. Zollers needs a little more seasoning. It would have been good had he reshirted this season.
Re: Can Mizzou afford a top five rated QB in the portal?
Moore had groomed Horn to start, Pribulla for backup, and Zollers to redshirt. Then it all fell apart on one designed run vs a blood donor.
Re: Can Mizzou afford a top five rated QB in the portal?
Nope, it's Zollers time, as some on this board have said. Wonder if they are changing their mind or at least understanding how bad our pass blocking was.
Re: Can Mizzou afford a top five rated QB in the portal?
I am not sure we even need a top 5. If we had Cook we would have been 10-2 in the regular season and in the CFP Hunt. If we can keep the defense elite and the running game, we just need someone serviceable. Someone like Virginia's QB would have been sufficient until Zoellers gets a little more development. What would Byrum Brown or Anthony Colandrea cost. They are not top 5, but probably top 15 and both can move the chains through the air or on the ground.

Colandrea played like dog-s in his bowl game. If we're not running an air-raid offense, you can find a qb in the portal.

I wish I had a dollar for every time Cook was attacked on this forum after winning a game.If we had Cook we would have been 10-2 in the regular season and in the CFP Hunt.
Re: Can Mizzou afford a top five rated QB in the portal?
Cook was a solid QB despite what people say. He had short game accuracy, had a high football IQ, could run, and was tough as nails. The only room for criticism could have been his long game accuracy.winonsports wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 09:16 amI wish I had a dollar for every time Cook was attacked on this forum after winning a game.If we had Cook we would have been 10-2 in the regular season and in the CFP Hunt.

These folks say a top tier qb will be asking $3-4 million.

That's code for agents. These folks don't believe in confirmation with multiple sources.
That helps them hook gullible folk like Edwin

The NCAA needs to find a way to make accepting NIL money hurt. Bad.

Yep and people think MU can afford to run with the big dogs when it comes to getting one of these quarterbacks most seasons if not every season.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:07 pmRidiculous money.edwin drood wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 11:57 am These folks say a top tier qb will be asking $3-4 million.

At some point you have to land a top recruited one and develop him. There's not enough top tier guys in the portal to go around.

It doesn't make sense that the members of an Athletic Association would vote to HURT their athletes.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:07 pmRidiculous money.edwin drood wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 11:57 am These folks say a top tier qb will be asking $3-4 million.

Have members of your international Johnnie On The Spot cleaners union ever done something like that?

Alonzo Barrett would be worth a phone call to check his interest.
Re: Can Mizzou afford a top five rated QB in the portal?
they won't get a top 5 QB so put the pipe down. Even if they have same offer those guys will go to the Big brands and you can't blame them.
Zoller after a decent vandy performance got worse with each chance he had culminating in a miserable bowl performance. IF I'm Eli and offensive staff would seriously consider telling him your bringing in best QB you can and if his feelings are hurt oh well. Take Beau's money plus Zollers and use it to get absolute best guy possible. But here's where the only real talent on FB field that drink brings to the party is figuring out who the most effective talent not just from a name school in TP and then fill in the offensive lineman they have to get too.

I am willing to bet that in the next decade the system collapses when the NFL sinks a ton of development time and dollars into guys and they’re not NFL ready because they haven’t been developed properly in college.11WSChamps wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:43 pmYep and people think MU can afford to run with the big dogs when it comes to getting one of these quarterbacks most seasons if not every season.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 12:07 pmRidiculous money.edwin drood wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 11:57 am These folks say a top tier qb will be asking $3-4 million.

The NFL won’t tolerate the NCAA giving them under developed players for long.
